Cheap and effective

I was worried about buying one of the least expensive racks out there but it worked great for burning man on the back of our Jeep. Carried a regular bike and a heavy electric bike well.

if you are able to hook them under the door and not the bumper then it's much better so you can still open the back gate.

Very please. Works great on my Wrangler

I haven’t used this on a long drive and not sure I would. But for my 5-10 mile drive it is awesome. Takes 20 seconds to put on and take off. Very pleased with it. If you take long drives or plan to use this 3-5 times a week I would get something more expensive. But if it’s something you need once a week or so for shorter drives it’s perfect.

Better than expected, solid.

I was planning to buy a trailer hitch mount style rack this year for my 2018 Wrangler JLU. I even installed a 2" receiver just for that purpose. For a few reasons, not the least of which was a 4 week delay on the one I wanted, I decided to see what was available for tire mount. Not sure why but I just didn't like the idea. Instead of a receiver rack costing hundreds of dollars I decided to try this one. I was pleasantly surprised by the perfect fit and ease of installation. Seriously, 30 sec to install, probably 10 sec to remove. I put one hybrid bike on it. It doesn't wobble, vibrate, sway, nothing bad. It does not block my hub-area mounted backup camera with bike installed. I wish everything I bought worked this well.

Pretty good. Take care to keep your bikes from paint damage.

This rack is pretty good, but I did manage to wear paint off of my bike because it was rubbing on a metal portion of the rack where the horizontal bike support bar mounts to the vertical bar. Just be careful and use foam or cloth padding. This is an inexpensive rack and you shouldn't expect fancy features. Also, I did find it best to remove the front tires and turn the handle bars/forks 90 degrees then bungee them in place. My bikes were held securely and the rack didn't come loose from my Jeep.

Read the reviews- use your own straps

This was perfect but you need to read the other reviews and look at the review photos. Use your own straps and secure the bike wheels from spinning with a bungee. We used our own straps and drove from NYC to Cleveland and it was very easy and very sturdy. We also added padding to the bar near the rear bike mount to keep friction off our bike and we were able to avoid any scratches.

Strap corrosion!

Straps corroded and broke after a summer being in the elements. Not sure if they are replaceable. Rest of bike rack works great. Strap integrity is an issue.

Did the job perfectly.

Was looking for a solution that allowed us to use a bike rack WHILE pulling a tent-trailer. This seemed like the best, and safest option. We after a total of 12-15 hrs of driving (much on bumpy roads & highways) it's still in perfect condition. *I should mention that I added 2 ratchet straps to keep our bikes from banging against one another and "just in case". Only downside is that once it's on, you can't open your back gate. So be mindful of your Order of Operations! (BEDMAS!)

Fits perfect on my Jeep wrangler

Perfect and affordable for my Jeep Wrangler 2020. Very sturdy, I have had it on for 1 month so far, has not been a problem for me in terms of falling off or becoming loose while driving etc. I have the straps tied through and under the spare tire for easy access since I always open the back door.

DID NOT OPERATE as stated

Allen Sports Deluxe 2-Bike Spare Tire Rack did not perform as advertised. 2 bikes were attached to rack as per instructions. Driving on highway , within a short distance , bike rack fell off damaging both bikes. There was Damage to the rack and most importantly costly damage to the bikes!! One bike is non-operational at present. Disappointed with this Allen product.

Great product and used many times already!

Great product for the Jeep Wrangler JL! Have used it many times and is easy to assemble bikes onto the rack! Only suggestions are that the assembly might need an additional person to tighten bolts and more clearer instructions than given.
