Direct 1:1 fit with no leaks , but filters less substances than the OEM filter
If you are looking at this filter replacement for you Samsung refrigerator , then I am sure that you , just as I, am appalled by $50 price for the OEM Samsung filter that needs to be replaced every 6 months ! Its pretty ridiculous if you as me. - And from that perspective this filter is perfect , for less than half the price of the OEM filter you get the same exact 1:1 fit as the OEM filter with no leaks or errors on my Family Hub refrigerator or issues making any ice . - Another good thing is that it lasts slightly longer than the OEM Samsung filter ( 316 gallons vs 300 gallons) However there is one thing to keep in mind about this filter which I will explain in the next section.. IMPORTANT THING TO KEEP IN MIND - One important thing I would like to point out that Amazon has two different version for same Samsung DA97-17376B, HAF-QIN/EX filter . One is the 'Standard Filtration' filter which is this one and the other oone is a AmazonBasics 'Premium Filtration' filter which can be foundhere - In terms of filtration , this 'Standard filtration' filter is basically a carbon lined mechanical filter and not a true solid carbon block filter like the OEM Samsung filter or theAmazonBasics Premium Filter - As a result this filter, removes only fine physical impurities and chlorine taste from water - It does not remove harmful chemicals like Lead , pesticides , VOC's etc from water like the OEM or Premium filter does FINAL THOUGHTS I like this Amazonbasics filter as it is less than half the price of the OEM Samsung filter , however please keep in mind that it filters less contaminants from water than the OEM filter . If your refrigerator water source is already pre-filtered , then this filter makes perfect sense. However if you refrigerator water line in unfiltered , then I recommend going with theAmazonBasics Premium Filter which is a true carbon block filter like the OEM with similar water purification for just a few bucks more

A cheaper option worth trying
I have owned a few different refrigerator models that required the water filter that plugs into the interior of the unit. I have been leery of the third party filters as all of the ones that I have tried in the past leak water and cause a mess inside the fridge. I installed this filter and after running a few gallons of water through the filter to charge it and see how it was going to perform, I have to say I have been impressed thus far. It did leak a bit when first installed and while getting all the air out of the system (less than half a cup of water). But now if is working as I would hope, no leaks, and the water clarity and taste is good. I haven't sent off a sample to a lab for testing or anything, but this water is as good as the more expensive brand filter. My reason for not giving five star is that, like almost all the third party filter providers, cheap out on the O-rings that would prevent the leaking. When I compare this to the one that came with the fridge, it is noticeably a difference in the thickness of the O-ring. Come on spend the $.02 and put the right size O-rings in the unit.

Looks good but make sure to order the right filter unlike what I did
I've always bought replacement filters for my Samsung fridge by looking for the HAF-CIN/EXP part number. Seeing that number on this filter I ordered it because the price was about ⅓ of what I've been paying. From the photos you'll see the filters are very different. Both say HAF-CIN/EXP but the cartridge numbers are different. What I learned is that one needs to look at the specific product number in addition the the HAF-CIN/EXP designation. The filter does appear to be good quality and I'll order the right one for my fridge next time.

Direct Replacement for Samsung Filter on 4 Door Fridge
This is a direct replacement for the filter on or Samsung fridge. We have the 4 door model that has the water pitcher/dispenser inside the upper left door. Installation took a few seconds and then I ran the water through the dispenser for a minute to clear out any loose filter particulate. Overall, I can't tell a difference between this and the OEM filter. Both this filter an the OEM filter remove the odd city tap water taste, so it seems to be working just as well and costs less than the Samsung branded replacement.

Good substitute for the OEM filter
We really like our Samsung Refrigerator's beverage center. It includes a pitcher that automatically refills so we have chilled water available at all times. It also includes a refill area for individual glasses, cups, etc. Both are filtered so the water tastes great. But of course filters are typically user replaceable items, and these are no exception. The good news is that they are very easy to replace, and these are more economical than the originals. It's probably a good idea to keep a spare or two on-hand as the remaining life on the installed filter isn't possible to determine with precision. Yes, you can estimate it based upon how much water you use, but that estimate is likely to be wildly inaccurate. By having one or two of these in your drawer when that notice gets sent to your phone (when did our appliances start talking to us, and does anyone think that there's something not quite right about that?) that it's time to replace the installed filter you can take the two minutes necessary to remove the old and replace it with one of these. After that you'll get hundreds of gallons of filtered water until that next notice pops up on your phone's screen...
