Great for serving as long as whatever you are serving doesn't need a flat surface (like a cake).

Bought this thinking it was going to be a flat plate, however this piece is concave on both sides and has 4 feet to allow it to solidly stand on a flat surface. As a result, you cannot use this to serve cake as the cake will sag in the center. Dimensionally, this piece is as follows: Concavity: 1/2" (.5) at center from edge. Thickness: 5/16" (.3125) over entire platter, minus feet. As I was needing a flat plate, this did not suit my use.

Attractive cheese board.

I bought 3 items to put together for a summer cheese/cracker board. This board, a black mesh cover, and a black serving tray. Together, they are a wonderful appetizer server for a backyard barbecue.

Very pretty but ~

Is rough around the edges and looks like it's flat in the picture, is actually slightly sloped down towards the middle. The 1 1/8 thickness includes four rounded legs, the platter itself is somewhat thin. Overall is still pretty nice

Attractive and convincing, but mine rocks.

American Metalcraft's Melamine Round platter is an excellent platter to present a charcuterie. The platter is quite large and can easily be the centerpiece of a table setting. The plastic construction makes it durable and easy to care for. Despite being plastic, it looks very convincing if you don't view it to closely. It's easy to clean with some warm water and soap. I'm sure it would clean up in the dishwasher just fine as well, but it's a bit large for my dishwasher's bottom rack unless I move the upper rack to the highest position. The biggest issue I have with this platter is that the 4 little feet on the bottom do not make a stable surface. One of the feet is a little shorter than the rest and the platter rocks noticeably. All in all... looks good, but rocks.

Large, Lovely Platter

I love the modern, marbled look and feel of the American Metalcraft Melamine Round Serving Board. The thing that impresses me the most about it is how sturdy and heavy it is. It doesn't seem like plastic, but looks like slate. It's an ample size that can accommodate a bountiful amount of goodies. The 4 legs underneath rest evenly and provide stability for the slightly rounded surface so there is no wobbling or topping over when loaded with vittles. The slightly cupped surface helps prevent drips. The variegated black and white design dazzles on the top surface. Comparing the product page photo with my platter, I can see that the dispersement of the white is unique to each individual serving plate. The bottom is plain black. It's an easy to clean dish that looks great sitting out between use. However it is light and thin enough to store easily. Overall, I really like the American Metalcraft Serving Board and think it would make a nice housewarming gift. It's versatile and would work well for both casual and fancy situations. ~ Kort

Pretty, looks like marble but much lighter

It looks like marble, but it's Melamine. It's marked dishwasher safe, but it doesn't fit in my dishwasher so I can't say whether or not it would have issues in the dishwasher. It's not huge, but it's larger than a dinner plate so I'm not sure that it would fit in any standard dishwasher. It is easy to clean and it's slightly concave which makes it nice for presenting things like caprese salad or anything that might have a bit of sauce on it. The biggest negative about it is that it rocks. It does not sit completely flat on the countertop or table.
