Awesome until Something Changed with the design (still pretty awesome though)

So I've probably bought about 10 boxes of these lights for my kitchen's recessed lights over the last 3-4 years and been mostly very happy. The design has changed slightly it seems each year and the changes were external or cosmetic around the lens. Sometime in late 2019 the internal design changed: The bulbs are now slightly dimmer/less luminous. And the color temperature has shifted to being more yellow orange from white. You can pick out the one that is 'not right' so to speak in the picture when all the lights are on. I had two boxes on hand and all 4 show this difference so Ive moved them somewhere else. No dimmer in my set up. Picture added

one light good, other not so good

Replaced 2 halogen lights on range hood. One light works no problem, one doesn't. Switched bulbs in sockets. Same light does not work in other socket. Finally was able to get non functioning bulb to work by tightening bulb more than a bulb should normally be tightened. Bulb will sometimes turn off if pressure is applied.

Perfect replacement for halogen task lights

There are two task lights over the sink area of my kitchen. They originally had halogen bulbs, but one burned out pretty quickly and I decided to replace both with LED bulbs, for longer life. My biggest concern was making sure the LED bulbs would be compatible with the receptacle and wattage, and my secondary concern was the brightness and light temperature. The halogen bulbs replaced have this printed on the bases: 39W PAR20 120V NFL. These Sylvania LED bulbs looked to be the same shape and size. While I couldn't find anything to say these are definitely the replacement bulbs for the halogens, there was nothing indicating otherwise. I also researched light temperature, 3000K light temperature was right in the range I was looking for. So I ordered these. As soon as they arrived we replaced both halogen bulbs. These are perfect! They light up the task area more brightly (39W for the old bulbs vs 50W for these makes a notable difference). The light temperature is perfect, too. Neither too harsh nor too yellowish. If these last anywhere near the ten years projected, the price I paid is very reasonable too.

No more expensive halogens that need replacing every two years

We use these in a china cabinet which is on about 6 hours a day. I got tired of replacing the halogen ones every 1.5 - 2 years. These are supposed to last 10 years and use a fraction of the energy. My main concern was brightness but they seem to work well. I was often running only one bulb in the cabinet since they would burn out quickly.

Will not work on older kitchen range hoods

Lights are fine… IF they will work with older kitchen range hoods. Ours is 15+ years old and will only take halogen or incandescent light bulbs, learned that thru trial and error. State of California has band those types of light bulbs. Just make sure your hood will take LEDs or you are waisting your time with these. Even homedepot said LEDs will work, but they won’t. Time for a new hood or go without the extra light.

These are quality bulbs. We use them in front yard to illuminate large maple trees at night. Do a great job.

was expecting a single LED source, not an array!

We had this product in the past and the design has changed. I was expecting a single LED source, not an array of LEDs! In a retail environment it makes a big difference as we now have multiple shadows. So I am a bit disappointed.

Can be used outdoors

I purchased these for my Broan range hood, hoping to replace the original halogens. I thought a Par20 described a bulb's size and shape, but these hang out of my hood by about 3/4 inch. Dopey looking. Since they can be used outdoors, I put them in a light-sensing fixture on my entry steps and for that they seem fine. Be careful when reading descriptions of bulbs on line. Often the dimensions listed are for the package, not the product itself. In the case of my range hood, I went back to the original style halogens as I could not find a suitable LED replacement.

Decent Bulbs

These are decent lightweight bulbs for the inside of your home. Pros: these things cast a consistent light and do not flicker like those of other companies (Noma, and no names). These things are also very light plastic and work well for me because they are slightly lower in brightness/lumen than other bulbs. This is great if you have a lot of lights in an area but don't to buy want a dimmer. Cons: these are not dimmable and their lightweight feeling makes it feel cheap compared to Philips' metal and glass LEDs. Considering that the Philips bulbs are roughly the same price as these bulbs, and are dimmable, you could just as well get a dimmer if you have the extra cash.

Wrong measurements

Measurements specified say 35.2 x 32.5 x 13.2 cm. In inches that equates to 13.8" x 12.79 x 5.19". Good thing I relied on the picture on the box and looked at the wattage of the bulbs I was replacing, which looked OK. But that was blind luck. Fortunately the same maker makes the size I actually need and its dimensions are stated correctly, and that this order is returnable.

Soft but bright light. Uses less electricity.

This a great light. It is just as bright as the 50 watt halogen it replaced, but has softer glow that is easy on the eyes. Same brightness level, but uses only 4 watts. A great saving on my electric bill.
