This is a wide deep orthotic dress shoe

The shoes from Apex don't have the best leather or the best style, but they do work. These shoes are similar to the ones from Dunham but better quality. It's a nice looking dress shoe that can take orthotics. There are not a lot of shoes that can do this.

Good Shoe, wrong color

They are NOT the color shown. Not even close. Not even with bright lighting. The listing photos are frankly a lie. These are a very dark brown with no ruddy or orange tone at all, compared to what they show in the listing. On that basis because you're trying to coordinate color to outfit, I have to dock 2 stars honestly. That said, they look well made, they fit good, and they include spacers to put under the insole if you want. Very nice. I would never pay the full price some of the sizes are listed at though, that's insane. I got this pair at like 75% off and at that price despite the color issue I'm keeping them, but even with that info don't pay more than half price honestly.

Excellent full-grain skuff resistance

Very comfortable, black color looks good, keeps a dull shine with minimal upkeep, skuff resistant.

Very Comfortable! Hard to find size - 12 1/2 wide.

I've had these shoes about 9 months. I'm on my feet at work all day, these shoes are very comfortable and holding up very well. Hard to find a 12 1/2 wide.

A comfortable pair of dark brown shoes

The shoes are as comfortable, as advertised. But they truly look nothing like the photo in terms of the color. The shoes are a dull dark brown. They were so cheap that I decided to keep them. Hence the three stars. But the company should be embarrassed about how misleading the photo is. It really borders on false advertising.

Great shoes

I have a tough time with shoes. A 55-year-old male with plantar fasciitis and hammer toes that give me fits with shoes. I have found the Aetrex brand to be a good one, but the cap toe oxfords in particular are great shoes for me. I need extra space in the toe box, and these shoes have it. The adjustable inserts are great, too, and help you to customize the fit. Finally, I wear these shoes in both formal and casual settings--I have the black pair and wear them regularly with a formal coat-and-tie setup. They are great shoes! Easily, the best set of good looking shoes I own that are also comfortable for walking in. You won't be disappointed.

Not dress shoes

I have very wide feet and was looking for a dress shoe. These really don't look like in the picture which shows something more classy and shiny. There are very limited choices in XW dress shoes. Unfortunately, these look like work shoes -- plain and simple. The leather finish is very matte and dull/boring-looking. Combined with the rather thick soles, they are too dorky-looking for dress. The construction seemed good, and if they were labeled as work shoes and showed more accurate pictures, I'd probably up them to 5 stars. Thank goodness for Amazon's amazing free returns on this.
