I love it!
First let me say DO NOT be discouraged from the one star reviews. I can understand someone being upset if they buy a new pen and get one that’s broken but if that’s the case none of us would ever own anything. It is absolutely impossible to buy anything that doesn’t have a bad review because of something that in many cases that has absolutely nothing to do with how the product works, go look up anything you own and love and someone had an issue, seriously go look and see, I’ve tried it there is nothing I’ve found that everyone loves. This pen is awesome if you are a grower and ph is vital and you want to be a next level grower. I’ve had mine 2 years and when it stops working I will immediately get another one. It does take a small bit of little effort to add a few drops of storage solution that you have to buy extra but that last a long time and it’s worth it to me. You add it after each use to keep it hydrated. If it dries out the pen is not ruined like some say but you might have to recalibrate which is easy after your first few times, especially with the step by step YouTube videos available to watch while you’re doing it. Just remember there are a lot of lazy incompetent people out there that all they want to do is push a button and be done with it and expect everything to be instant and do nothing else. It all comes down to how important ph means to you and it is very important to me. This pen is accurate and it’s awesome and requires very little effort to maintain and it has helped me take my growing to the next level. It also works great with my pool to, way better than those test strips they have that do work but not quite as accurate as this ph pen. Thousands of top growers use this pen and depend on it, you see them on YouTube all the time using it. I happened to run across the reviews looking for something else and wanted to see what the hater’s were saying and now that I’ve used the Bluelab pen a couple of years I felt I could give a genuine review based on my experience with it. So, now it’s up to you to decide. Good luck!

Solid and Accurate Device
I have used this Bluelab PH tester for my hydroponic garden for about 6 weeks now and it hasn't let me down yet. Company recommends Calibration every week, but I test about 2 weeks. It's accurate to within .1 ph, which is very good for my purposes. The cap/cover is also great for protecting the glass element. Only drawback is you have to buy PH testing solutions every so often and make sure the cap is snapped on ( with storage solution on inside sponge ).

Reputation for a reason -- UPDATED
I started with ordering the grower's toolbox at the very end of January -- it was delivered February 1st and the EC pen was dead before June 1st. I figured that it wasn't too serious, since sometimes these things happen and it should have a warranty. In the meantime, I decided I'd order a new EC pen since I have to make sure to feed my plants properly -- they're very picky. The new pen arrived within days and after thoroughly cleaning and rinsing, as instructed to before calibration, I attempted to calibrate the new EC pen. No dice. Tried cleaning and rinsing again -- nothing. I contacted Amazon and got a replacement sent (props to Dash for getting me taken care of quickly and painlessly), and tried to clean and calibrate the NEW EC pen...to absolutely no avail. Still getting "Er" code on the display. So it seems that no matter what I do, Bluelab products are simply not worth the effort to try and use and DEFINITELY not worth the cost. It's a shame, really, because I feel like I remember their products actually working when I first started using them 3 years ago or so. I will be looking for a new manufacturer for my plant feed analysis products and highly recommend that anyone reading this review does the same! UPDATE: After having reached out to Bluelab and left a message, I received a call back from a representative that asked for some details related to the products. She guessed that the EC control I was using was expired and sent me new EC solution, as well as pH probe storage solution and pH 4.0 and pH 7.0 controls. After cleaning the probes again and using the new solutions sent to me, both pens (pH and EC) were able to be calibrated. I was told that if, for whatever reason, the new solutions didn't work to contact Bluelab again so that they could rectify the situation. All in all, I'd buy this product again, but probably directly from Bluelab since they pointed out that solutions in/with products sold by other parties may be past their prime.

Best ph pen made
Most accurate, best made ph pen I've ever used. As long as you keep it calibrated, and keep the cap wet with storage solution this thing will last a long time. And be accurate every time. Skip the cheap meters, and just spend the money on this. It's worth it.

They do not honor the warranty!
Damn good meter lousy company won't honor warranty. .the glass dome that covers the probe fell off in my reservoir and I didn't notice until it's too late it was flush when changing my nute's. Now they basically told me to fo! ???? very angry these are not flippin cheap! Be forwarnded the customer service sucks! ????

Accurate.... questionable build quality
I have their EC meter which is awesome and this felt the same at first. After following all the manufacturer's guidelines it now displays oo89 on the screen and has what appears to be a missing section where there SHOULD be glue but isnt... Edit: After buying this product ELSEWHERE, and NOT on amazon... I now have a legitimately NEW product... Stay away from highstreethydro...

wont last longer than 1 season .. even the battery lasts longer
All i can say here is that if you think your buying better accuracy and longevity than a £10 item from ebay DONT BE FOOLED .. after years of buying cheap ph pens (some of which still work 7 years on) this was totally disappointing and a total waste of money ..it was no more accurate than a cheapo .. needed calibrating just as often or more often .. and despite buying expensive probe cleaner/storage solution and ph calibration solution it hasnt lasted much more than 12 months .. I see bluelab have updated there online help now to say its life span is 12 to 18 months . DONT BUY .. save your money and get 3 or 4 cheap items ..

Best investment If you grow in soil or coco or even Hydro
I dont know why I didn't buy one sooner . Since legalization the bales of dirt have not been as good with ph all over the place . I was doing the old run off . But after buying this I kick myself now . Cause we are talking ph 0.5 difference or more in a few pots . To some that's not bad . But to me and my plants it's like good days or bad lol also don't keep it in RO water it will shorten the life of probe and will wreck it . Says in small print . Also you can use in your food solution (water) To adjust pH. Hope this has helped hit the helpful button and let me know its help thanks so much.

Better products available, same brand
Awkward, impossible to maintain for long term, get the multi probe machine and buy the leap probe attachment if your heart is set on reading oh directly from medium, this is outdated technology
