They work, but with a drastic drop in clarity
I got these with the inclination these would be perfect for concerts. While they did stop a lot of the dangerously loud decibels, the clarity of the music seemed to be sacrificed significantly. I opened/slid the covers open, and did not get much out of that. So I took them off to hear what I was missing. Sure enough the clarity was greatly diminished. I went home deaf but happy I took them off.

Not the same product as previously, but the same price! Buyer beware!
These are my 4th pair and there is no noticeable difference between the 12dB and 24dB settings for this new pair for the same price as my other 3 pairs. This is a different company producing a different, lesser product. Buyer beware!

Good earphones for concerts
I get that bad ringing in my ear if I'm too close to a speaker at a concert. The singer eventually sounds like chipmunks because of hearing loss. These earphones help with anti chipmunk voices quite well!

Pricey but worth it.
If you go to a lot of concerts and care about your hearing, ear protection is a must. These are a heck of a lot more expensive than what you'd get at a drug store in a pack of multiple pairs, but they also perform better. I haven't measured the decibels of reduction, but these really do make a difference at loud concerts. Their fit is quite versatile as well. I was able to use them for my young son at New Years fireworks so they wouldn't be as loud for him, and he appreciated them.

Toss your foam ear plugs and get these!
I was your typical 90’s teen into punk rock and have been around a lot of loud music. Luckily, I have no hearing loss, but now that I am older, I need to be more careful. Now that I am 40 and have picked up the drums again, my husband reminded me that I should wear hearing protection. I decided to try out the D'Addario dBud earplugs since they are geared toward musicians and concert venues. I had no trouble hearing the sounds I wanted while dulling out the damage. Forget those bulky orange foam earplugs – these are worth it if you are looking for an affordable option to minimize hearing damage. The sleek/slim look and fit are also a perk, and the neck strap is great as no one wants to drop something during a concert! It could just be me, but I had a hard time changing the setting, while in my ear - it wasn’t an easy slide, so keep this in mind if that was a selling point. Also, to note, I seem to be sensitive to some noise-canceling type headphones, as they make me feel sick, but I didn’t have a problem with these. The ‘zero electronics’ is also a plus as I’m starting to grow tired of everything needing to be charged – sometimes it’s nice to just keep it simple. Overall, a good middle-of-the-road hearing protection option with additional perks such as the neck strap and sleek fit.

I am pretty well satisfied with them. I often experience auditory over-stimulation when in enclosed and noisy spaces or crowds. These do a really great job of taking the edge off so I can function in public and it really helps to reduce my anxiety. They are comfy enough and do a great job, they serve my purposes well.

initial impressions are good
Unfortunately these didn't arrive on time for me to take them with me for a recent concert, but I have had the opportunity to test fit, and try them out around the house. Initial impressions are that they attenuate well without overly coloring the sound. I've found some similar products are very position sensitive, and that the clarity of high frequencies in particular are hard to dial in. My first experiences with these suggest they're a bit easier in that regard, once you have the right tip size on them. Unfortunately I've not had the chance to try them in a truly loud concert venue, but I will definitely update this if I find out more from that kind of experience (or similar). The magnets and leash make these a lot easier to manage than competing products I use, plus you get the bonus of looking like a dork when them hanging around your neck when you aren't using them. Overall, they seem good so far, but I hope to put them through some more challenging situations soon.

Good for events.
I work in music and I get a lot of use out of these. They aren’t the BEST earplugs but they’re pretty decent for balancing ear protection while being able to hear people that are speaking directly to you. The noise controls make honestly no difference in my opinion so if that’s what is drawing you to these, throw that out the window. I thought I’d hate wearing the thick band on these but I actually like it and find it pretty comfortable because at times I need to have one bud in and one out and this helps me keep track of them without being annoyed by the wire-y ones. I can feel good about recommending them, but don’t expect the greatest protection available. They work, they have their benefits, and I’d say they’re worth the price for the most part in comparison with others in the same range.
