Missing screw

An update(March 10). I received a new doorbell in the mail today. It has two screws as expected. So all is well now. I bumped rating to 4 stars. I received the product the other day. Unfortunately for me there was only one screw with the doorbell (there should have been two). I am waiting to hear back from the company on getting a second screw. I installed the doorbell with old screws that I had. The doorbell works great and looks fine.

so yes, i'm on the vine but bought this outright. i mean it's < $7 with tax, c'mon already. now it actually looks better than the pic. it's a muted silver (satin) and lighted. i only gave it 3 stars for installation and here's why. there are no instructions. if you're throwin' up after that comment, i get it, so lemme 'splain. this is the one of the simplest electrical devices to install. you have 2 low voltage wires that are not polarized, so attaching to either terminal will work. what needs to be mentioned is how to install if you have a multi-note chime, yeah. after removing the old button, i noticed an electrical component between the terminals. after installing the new button, only one chime would be audible. if i held the button down for an extended time, all the chimes would play out. very weird, right. so i decided to reinstall that component between the terminals and boom, everything was good again. my guess is that component is a capacitor that allows for additional current flow after a momentary press. if someone wasn't paying attention, and just tossed the old button, there would've been some disappointment. so, installer beware. . . . and that's that. in replacing the old one, it was a perfect fit for the screws - the light is almost too bright but over time they tend to dim. wish it was a led but when it eventually goes out, it won't be missed as it's rare to have a ring after dark, round here. i'm happy with this purchase and yes, it's a very good value.

Kinda Small, but it works

Smaller than I expected, works okay - can't speak to longevity, but it's lasted a year so far. Original button had worn out.

This is plastic not copper.

I didn't like it was plastic and it you scratch it the paint comes off and the light shows through.

Plastic with a thin brass coating

It said brass and for the price I guess I wasn't really expecting solid brass for this price. It's a plastic housing with a brass coating I suspect will wear off quickly in the elements.

Great basic doorbell!

I really like the look of this doorbell, especially for the price, but I did NOT like the backlit colour of the doorbell once it was wired in! It lights up with an old style yellowish colour.. so I actually connected it in a way that didn’t activate the back-light and it looks great that way. I replaced an old doorbell with this and it was super easy to install. Works every time it’s pushed, as it should! If you found this review useful please hit the ‘HELPFUL’ button! Thanks! :)

Good quality lighted door bell button

Nutone, plain black item w/ approx. 2 1/8" screw hole centers. 2 wire unit. Easy to install w/ the supplied screws. Button light is bright even during the day. Would recommend.
