OK, so the Flav-R-Wave design is flawed in that it allows way to many flareups if you grill fatty food it high temperatures. I am sure part of the problem is that the firebox has too much ventilation (closing the lid doesn't prevent flame ups or put them out, I have to use a squeeze bottle of water. But this is the same, thick, high-quality stainless-steel part that is has always been, exactly the same as came standard in your Broil-King, Broil-Mate, Sterling or Huntington 400 sq inch grill. It does a great job of protecting your burner ,and its pretty effective in distributing heat, especially if you use the "infinity burner T501" design that was used in the Broil-King Crown Series instead of less effective H-Burner design that is standard in the equivalent Broil-Mate, Sterling, and Huntington branded models. I have been using my $200 Broil-Mate grill pretty heavily for 8-plus years and I've only replaced this part once, so it generally outlasts both the burner and the main cast iron grill. I think it works better after the shine is off, so I don't actually replace it until it starts to fall apart. YMMV, of course.

New life for "Old Faithful"

New life for our old grill. Our faithful grill was going strong, except for the factory original flame shield which finally deteriorated to the point where it could be crumbled by hand. We thought about buying a new grill, but I saw this and decided to put off that decision until next year. Well, the decision may be put off to the next decade. This one is much better than the original. Parting thought: While I have occasionally "grill envy" when I see the shiny new ones at the store, I know this grill like a faithful hound and can cook anything to perfection without a new learning curve. Thanks!

Excellent quality

Not the cheapest, but arrived fast and very good quality; our BBQ is old but we renew main parts every 2 seasons and it still works very well... These work very well and give good temperature control in use...2nd season and still going strong...keep them cleaned regularly 2-3x per season to lengthen useable life....

Well made

Unlike other heat reflectors, this one is quite thick metal. It should last quite some time. It's not really meant for my BBQ but it fits so who cares. If you're thinking about buying this, measure first. It's a good buy.

Good replacement for my corroded original Flav-R Wave.

The exact replacement for my Broilking Crown20. No more flame-ups and pretty pleased. I'm deducting 1 star because I found it cheaper locally after I already bought it from Amazon. Also found the replacement gas burner cheaper locally and that I didn't buy from Amazon. Luckily!

Perfect fit but item was damaged.

The item itself is self explanatory. Perfect replacement. But the one i received had severe deep scratches on and under it... But I don't care since it's in the bottom of my bbq.
