100% cuir.

The Original "Barefoot" Shoe!
I bought these wanting a "studio shoe" for zumba and something to wear around the house to keep my feet clean (I tend to always go barefoot, can't stand stuff on my feet). I remembered wearing these as a little girl, and like the way they looked, plus they are way cheaper than the trendy barefoot shoes on the market. I've been wearing them maybe a month now and they are absolutely perfect. I kind of botched sewing the straps on - either that or they stretched, I don't know, but it really doesn't matter as the shoe fits like a glove without them needing to secure anything. The tie is basically a drawstring, so that sort of customizes the fit. They are very attractive on the foot, following the arch like a second skin. They are perfect for zumba, I don't get hung up on my sneaker soles anymore. They keep my feet warm and comfy, and clean! at home. I've worn them every day since I got them and they are holding up great. The biggest issue I have is that they sent me PINK even though I ordered BLACK. The box said black, so I guess they need to take a peak inside more often. As it turned out, they were so comfortable I couldn't bring myself to send them back so pink it is. It's fine, they look pretty with jeans, and I will probably want another pair anyway, so hopefully my next try at black will work out better. I normally wear size 11, and after reading the reviews decided to go up half a size - this worked out great for me, they were perhaps the tiniest bit tight at first, but as the leather gives a bit they feel like a custom fit now. Highly recommend these ballet slippers!

Wonderful Ballet Slippers
I needed some ballet shoes for an adult beginner class and I picked these based on all the various reviews, but the real challenge was figuring out my size. So I read all the reviews and figured that I should order 1 size up since most said using street sizing wasn't accurate. I'm a size 7 (sometimes 7.5 if I need some extra space in the shoe) and I have a very narrow foot, so I ordered a size 8 in the rose quartz. PERFECT FIT! There isn't any additional space in the heel and my toes have enough room to move but not too much room that it feels loose. Even the arch is perfect, I have a natural high arc in my foot and this slipper molds perfectly to it. The leather is nice and smooth, feels good to the touch. I do like how the drawstring can be tightened just in case but I will be cutting the string shorter since its too long. The straps are pre-sewn. I will say that the rose quartz isn't really any type of pink/rose shade, its more of a light tan color which is great for me. I'm darker and wear flesh colored tights so its a better look than pink slippers. I can't gush enough about these slippers, as soon as I opened the box at my desk I put them on and haven't taken them off yet, they are that comfortable.

Good construction tight fit
Capezio was the dance master when I was a kid and for all I know still is. Construction of course is good. The fit is tight even tho I bought a full size larger as suggested by other reviewers. But perhaps after I wear them long enoughj they will stretch to fit better. I can only hope. This is my second effort at writing a review. Amazon rejected my first review but I'm not sure why this time. When you see these interminably long reviews full of personal history and chit-chat, it is likely because Amazon requires a minimum number of words and they do count them. Too bad their software doesn't have the ability to edit for succinctness. The title of this review is all you really need to know. Oh well. I spent fifteen years as a technical writer where I learned that excess verbiage obscures information; but I can wax prolific with empty words when called upon to do so in the interest of obscuring information about Capezio or any other product. When you see a review that says "cheap junk," on other sites...you'll never see that here...don't you tend to disregard the reviewer as probably disgruntled? I do. However if I see four or five like that I go on to the next product. Anyway, I'd never say that about Capezio by the way. Actually, dance shoes are something one should only buy in a store where one can try them on. But I'm old and live in a remote community so I buy a lot of things online. I already sent back one pair of dance shoes that I would never have bought if I tried them on beforehand. Love, Hrare

Capezio's Sizing and Styles Have Changed!
My wife loves to wear ballet slippers as house shoes. We have purchased many pair over the years. This is the first time she tried the Juliet split Sole. Her normal size for a street shoe is 9 or 9.5 C. These 9.5 Wide were waaaay to small and too narrow. Then we tried 10 Wide ....which are still a bit too small but VERY wide. We are keeping them...because she can wear them...but have since ordered an 11.5 medium..hoping they will be what she wants. For some reason...Capezio ballet slippers have become very difficult to find. The sizes are very limited and it is amazing how the size differs between "styles" i.e. Daisy, 200 and Juliet. One would think that a size "9" in all styles would be roughly the correct size...but not even close. Yes...we know that some dancers by 2 sizes smaller and stretch them out but that is not what she wants. She just wants a slipper that is a bit snug to start and then stretches out. It is a shame to have to buy and return several sizes...each time hoping to find the correct fit. We will keep trying. Thanks to Amazon for making exchanges easy!

Use sizing recommendations- and they'll fit.
They're exactly what I wanted. I use them for Tai Chi.

Great shoe, but take care with sizing
I wear a size 7.5 street shoe, occasionally a 7, even rarer an 8. A 7.5 in this is just way too small - to the point that I knew I would need an 8.5, at least. That's what I ordered (8.5! - that sounded huge!), and although it was very snug when I first put it on, I wore them one evening just in the house, then to dance the next day - perfect. Seriously, go at least a half-size bigger than your normal size. If your feet are very narrow, that might be enough, if they are wide, you may need more. For me, a whole size was just right. Great shoe, more of a dusky / Old Rose than baby pink, they allow your feet to arch really well - and show that off well too! 4 out of 5 stars only because of sizing issue.

Price increase so fast
The leather is very soft but at the same time provides good support. It snugs nicely on my feet

Slightly small fit
I like these ballet shoes. I ordered size 8 as I am size 8 or 7 1/2, depending on brand. I am 7-7/12 in some European brands. Anyway, these seem to fit, still a little small, and I fear my toe will pierce the skin soon. Maybe the shoes will break in after wearing them. Other than that they are comfortable. they come with 2 crossed elastics that are already stitched. I intend to use them for some ballet classes. I like the them as I can easily do pirouettes even on carpet, which were impossible with bare feet or with socks.

Surprisingly good!
Amazing! First I thought it was fake ones, and they look soooooo small! However, after wear this on I feel they fit my feet excellent! It is too soft though, I won’t wear this pair to dance, but I will keep this as my daily slippers at home! I love them!

Nice but not for wide feet or high arch
Shoes are nice but even the wide width was too narrow for my feet. I also have a high arch and the shoes were way too tight on the top of my foot.
