The Real Deal

Like some other reviewers, I was suspect about getting 12 of these at this price. These are not the super-duper ones that scored on ATK, but they are very good pot holders. I wish they were slightly larger (8x8 or even just 7x8 would be nice), but that's about it.

considerable shrinkage

I had older black San Jamar potholders that I loved, so when they were no longer as heat resistant (after more than 10 years of use) I replaced them with these. The first time I washed and dried a few of them, they shrank about an inch from each side.

Very easy to clean

Great for working our pizza oven. They last longer than the towel material pot holders.

Great price but catch fire easily

2021 Edit: Yikes! We have loved using these and love the price BUT there is a problem. If they accidentally catch on fire as you are using them near the stove the ignite quickly and create a pretty big fire right away. Too bad! We had to toss them. Original Review: It sounds too good to be true but it isn’t. You actually do get 12! The insulation is great. They look good. Stitching is all even and good. They don’t fall apart in the wash. I am buying two more packages for my kids’ families.

Well made and no more burning myself on cheaply made walmart pot holders! Would definitely not hesitate buying the San Jamars again.

Smelled like a musty old basement.

I had to wash the hot pads because they smelled so bad. I liked the silver sheen on the hot pads before I washed them but now they shrunk and are just like normal fabric. They still work because the thickness is good.
