Decent watch... Smaller than a hubcap
When my 20 year old fossil went out I wanted another exactly like it, but everything now is so big, it looks like you're wearing a hubcap on your arm. This one doesn't. I really wanted to pay the money for one of those fancy titanium eco drive-types, but with a 10- year battery life and costing (on sale) about a quarter of a Benjamin, I figured I'd give this a try. I've been wearing it for about a week straight and it's taking perfect time as far as I can tell. It's small enough to look like a watch, and the numbers are very easy to read. It's obviously heavier than titanium would be, but also a lot cheaper. I do a lot of things in this watch (inside and out), and have no scratches on the face so far. The band is a little aggravating to adjust links, but I have a lot of confidence anyone can remove and replace them on their own. I have gotten some scuffed places on the band on the bottom side probably due to scraping while I'm typing on different surfaces. I wouldn't be able to tell, but they're on the shiny portion of the band rather than the satin finished portion. I don't see how those scuff could ever be avoidable if you actually wear this thing a lot. I haven't swam with it yet, because it's freezing so I don't know about water proof. It is comfortable and I like it all except for one thing, which if I were a hairy ape, may be a problem.... When it shakes in just the right way, it will snag a hair here and there. This may be because of this one fitting a little more snug than my last watch, but I'm not sure. The band of my fossil seemed to move a little more freely, so that may be why as well.... I'm not sure. It didn't happen often at all, but when it does, I certainly know it. If you have ever met Jane Goodall, you may want to consider another watch, as this one may not be good for hairy dudes.... I'll try and remember to upset this down the road, but I'll probably forget.

A solid watch that looks good and is presentable anywhere. A 10 year Casio guarantee of quality.
OK, I'm a watch junkie. I admit it. I have over 50 watches, some of them very cheap, and a few costing a couple hundred dollars. But the perfect watch? Always just out of reach, after one or another damning fault comes to light. My Timex Weekender? Right size, super clear dial and reliable and accurate as any, but with that loud ticking like Poe's tell tale heart. The digitals? Great from the right angle, but that angle is so narrow I have to contort my wrist every time I need to do a time check. The ana-digi combo's? Should be perfect but somehow not, too busy to tell time in a hurry. And then comes this watch. It cost me my last dollar when I bought it (and I couldn't get the gold trimmed version), but now that it's here, I am very pleased. There was an initial glitch when I couldn't get the band adjusted - I could get one link out, but not any others. I went to my local jewellers (Stewart Dawsons, Queensgate Mall, Lower Hutt), and a nice young Maori girl said she would waive the fee for doing this. And now it's PERFECT!!! It sits on my wrist doing it's job with no effort whatsoever, and I can ignore it except whenever I want to sneak a peek at the time. It lacks the absolute precision of a digital timepiece, but offers the more useful facility of providing relative time. It is easier to see at a glance how much time is needed before another event, whether this is 20 minutes, half an hour, or an hour or two. Much less easy with a digital. And the viewing angle is tremendous, it takes very little effort to check the time. The dial is well crafted, and makes the watch seem much more expensive. The Edifice branding is very reassuring, as is the 100m water resistance. The 10 year battery guarantees that this watch will stay on my wrist for a long time. It might even slow down the pace at which my watch collection grows...? UPDATE: After three months of everyday wear, this is still my go to watch. And I can tell you, it is UTTERLY accurate. Yes, the time pips on the radio confirm that this watch, this budget priced but superior exemplar of watch design, has neither gained nor lost ONE SECOND since the time I first put it on. And I haven't worn any of my other watches, in fact I have sold most of my collection, as yes, I have finally found my perfect watch. Well, maybe there could be some slight improvements. The mineral glass has some 3D waviness at the limits of visibility. Maybe a sapphire lens would improve this to a small degree. And as someone else has noted, the interior edges of the bracelet could be smoother. I have bought a Dremel tool to see if I can fix this. And maybe it could be 39mm instead of 37mm. But who am I kidding? If you want the best of the best (for the price), then might I humbly inform you that this is it.

Beautiful watch with a bad band
This watch is the best that I have bought in this price range. It has both stainless steel bezel and back. It has an attractive blue face and a date window that is easy to read. It is water resistant for swimming with a 100 meter rating. An excellent weight, neither light and flimsy, nor excessively heavy. I like the size too. Not too big and bulky. The most important feature to me is the twist-on back. Such a back is easy to remove for battery replacement as long as you have an simple tool for that purpose. And yet very waterproof. I have been very satisfied over the years with Casio. If I were rating only the watch, I would give it a strong five stars. However, the terrible watch band brings the rating down to three stars. Furthermore, I would not recommend the purchase of this watch with this band. It's a shame that such a great watch is ruined by such a terrible band. The folded sheet metal parts in the band have gaps on the back which catch hairs on your arm and uncomfortably pull at them. This happens all the time, not just occasionally. Also, the band is stiff, lacking flexibility. Furthermore, the adjustment by removal of links used here is the worst kind of watch band designed. In most metal watch bands, the links are removed by extracting pivot pins, using a simple inexpensive tool designed for that purpose. But in this band, tiny sheet metal keys must be extracted. And without any special tool, this is a difficult and frustrating process. I am not a watch expert, but I appreciate watches. It's a shame that such a nice watch is paired with such a bad band! I love the watch, but I simply can't wear it because it is so uncomfortable.

Excelente precio, excelente reloj!!
Gracias
