Hmm…
To begin, this is my first venture into Casio’s new MIP watches as I’ve been accustomed to Garmin watches for the past 6-7 years. To begin, this watch is very, very light. It’s just a little bit heavier than the regular Garmin instinct. You don’t even notice it on your wrist. Getting used to the GUI and functionality of the watch doesn’t take long. The Casio app isn’t bad either, no MAJOR issues. That said, some quirks with the watch: 1. No hourly chime 2. 60 minute Timer…really Casio, on a digital watch? 3. The Compass widget has so much more potential, but a lot of wasted space. This needs to be improved upon. 4. Certain functionality can only be done on the app. This watch should have the capability of being completely autonomous from the app, if needs be especially when it comes to settings. 5. Only one watch face is customizable, there should be more options in relation to this. Overall, not a bad watch but Casio has a long ways to go before competing with Garmin.

Far superior to previous model, but the app is terrible
Edit after 4 weeks: The device itself is as good as I said originally in this review… but the Casio Watches App completely ruins the experience! Therefore, regrettably I have to remove 2 stars. Super slow syncing (you have to force-quit a ton); does not pull in sleep data until 1-2 hours after waking (even though it gets the sleep time correct); app is glitchy all over the place. If you buy the very good watch, be prepared to also buy a LOT of patience with the app! Original Review: Back in 2020 I bought Gen 1 of this Watch (the GBD-H1000), and I really wanted to love it. But the heavy weight was too noticeable all day, and the sheer size dwarfed my 7.25 inch/184mm wrist. And the HR measurement on Gen 1 was only accurate (compared to a chest strap or the Apple Watch) maybe half the time. And there was only 1 activity profile for running, and no sleep tracking (which the heavy weight prevented anyway). BUT this “Gen 2” (GBD-H2000) literally solves every single one of those limitations from Gen 1: 40% lighter (think Garmin Instinct light); noticeably smaller (fits my wrist normally!); accurate HR compared to Garmin hrm-pro chest strap (with bonus spO2 ability); 8 different activity profiles; and accurate, detailed sleep tracking thanks to the Polar Fitness algorithms. (I own a Polar Ignite 3, so I know how good Polar’s algorithms are.) If you’re looking for a legit Garmin or Polar substitute… but with a modern Casio aesthetic… this is it!

Great watch, so-so app
Great watch (5 stars), mediocre app (3 star) The watch looks good and feels good just like other G-Shocks. The customizable display is nice too. I love the watch. But, as a smart watch, the app and the cloud service is as important as the watch itself, and that part is only OK. A few things I particular want future update is - CASIO WATCH app doesn't sync with external services (I heard the previous model, H1000, supported export to Google Fit. So, this is a disappointment.) - App doesn't sync all data. (I still can't tell how it works. Some information shows up, some don't.) Hope these things are improved in the future app versions, and then, I can change the rating to 5 stars with delight!

Not what i expected!
First off i have a few casio G-shock watches and i am very happy with them and as a matter of fact i am currently wearing the GBD-H1000 and i absolutely love this watch so when i saw tat they were coming out with a newer version and would be partnering with Polar i was excited, I received my GBD-H2000 today i rushed home to pick it up and use it rite away, opening the box up i quickly noticed that the face was a little smaller which i knew by reading the website it would be thinner and lighter but i did not think it would look like something that a 10 year old could wear and what i mean is EVERYTHING is smaller from the dial to the straps and putting it side by side with my H1000 it looks tiny and I don’t have huge wrists just average and the H2000 just looks so small and it looks very small on my wrists so i am returning it, if you have average wrists or larger i would think twice before buying this one unfortunately.

Not a serious fitness watch. Don’t buy, unless you’re a G-Shock collector.
I bought this watch as a supplement for my Apple Watch, and act as a solar powered option for when I’m away from power for longer periods. Casio claims it can track a lot of the fitness metrics which have helped me lose 36 pounds over the past seven months. It does track heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep data and other useful metrics. However, this watch has some quirks, and the software is poorly designed. So are you are severely limited in what you can actually do with the data this watch collects. This watch is not able to pair with apps like the Apple health app, My Fitness Pal, Strava or Athlytic. So using the heart rate data, and the work out data that it collects is basically a homework assignment. It takes up to two minutes to get a GPS signal when beginning a work out, in my experience, and you were also not able to see the time while in the middle of tracking at work out, and the battery life while using the heart rate sensor, and GPS functionality is pretty awful compared to something like the Garmin Instinct 2 solar, which is a direct competitor and in the same price range. It’s also important to note that this is the second version of the watch, and it’s worse to use than the first. At least the H1000 used the GShock Move app, and could send data to Apple’s Health app. This GBD H2000 can’t even do that. In light of all of these flaws, and Casio being terrible about updating their software, usually opting to release, and then forget about products, I’m sending mine back and wouldn’t recommend this device to anyone serious about fitness. It’s a nice looking toy.

Great looking watch, but not for me.
G-Shock s are great watches, but this one just isn't for me. The size seems to differ greatly from the website listing, and the band/watch material gave me a weird rash on my wrist. Super light though and could be great for others.
