Over Engineered

My primary toilet has a similar concept for removing and cleaning the seat. This seat hinge mechanism here is overengineered and not so easy to remove for cleaning. This hinge removal setup could easily defeat a consumer who is not persistant and I think the mechanism is doomed for failure after a number of removals for cleaning.

Not Slow Close

Just installed this and as of right now I am disappointed and may need to return it. The lid is not slow close. When I try to put the lid down it stays suspended in place and does not close on its own which is what I wanted.

Poorly designed

Why? 2 screws and you design a lid that has a plastic clamp over the screws requiring longer to install has to be more expensive to make and likely less reliable. Makes no sense. Secondly, probably my fault the soft close is lid only NOT the seat. I was wanting a soft close toilet seat.

Did not come with hardware

Upside: the hard-to-find biscuit color matched the toilet perfect, but there were no screws/bolts in the box and the directions were not detailed and didn't help with installation.

Lasted Five Months

The toilet seat lasted five months. First the easy clean feature would pop off the plastic screws. Then one of the plastic screws snapped in half. After replacing the plastic screws with metal screws, the easy clean feature snapped off. To be fair the metal screws may have broken the plastic easy clean feature. I will not be buying this toilet seat again. I ordered a new Glacier Bay toilet seat from Home Depot for half the price and the free delivery took two days.

Install bolts and nuts first, then snap in hinges

Important to follow instructions as this is not typical and a but different in that the bolts get installed first and tightened. Open up the openings inside each hinge to then snap onto the exposed bolt heads. Then lock each hinge following the instruction images.

Different hinges

I did not realize i was ordering a different type of hinge than i have installed for many years. This hinge may facilitate removing the seat to ensure a perfect clean, but it is not as simple or tight to install and use as the regular bolt-on. Slow-close function snd finish were perfect.
