Great spreader

The spreader was delivered in a timely manner from an Amazon warehouse. All of the components were in the shipping box and assembly was fast and easy. Excellent value on used/like new items.

not worth it

the product rusted out terribly, a terrible waste of money, I bought a another chapin from Uline I believe, that works fine, Chapin is supposed to be top of the line, did not get through even one season of winter. threw it out

Don’t waste your money. Just for the record, my last Chapin spreader lasted 5years

Biggest wast of $140. Used it one for salting on sidewalks and the “plastic material auger fingers” All but one of the fingers broke. So now it doesn’t want disperse material down the chute and onto the spinner. (Fresh bags of salt, absolutely no clumpy material).

Great spreader!

The media could not be loaded. This Chapin broadcast spreader is great! I used it for pre-emergent and it worked wonderfully - saved me so much time on refilling since it holds so much! This can be used for all seasons since it’s for ice-melt as well, so I will be using this quite often!

No Salt In Your Wounds

This is a story about how a salt spreader almost led to couples’ counselling. My husband ordered this on a whim, thinking it was something else. What that else was I have no idea. So a few days later, this box shows up - a rather large box- with SALT SPREADER emblazoned on it. Y’all. We live in Louisiana. Want to know how many days we dropped below freezing last winter? Two. I was ready to thump my husband in his melon. Fortunately for him, this is not just a salt spreader, but a “broadcast spreader.” This means, it can and will evenly distribute all kinds of stuff, up to and including grass seed and fertilizer. My husband is a lucky, lucky man. We DO need and use fertilizer, weed and feed, and the like. This will make those applications much easier and not require the renting of machines from the local big box store. Bear in mind, there is a convenient chart and dial on the back that will easily regulate what you need. So, moral of the story, this is not just a salt spreader and your husband should not not be destroyed.

Can Change Spread Pattern

What a tidy little salt spreader. It’s eighty pound limit for salt is perfect for my driveway. The salt could last me all winter or depending on snow storms could last two weeks. But not having to touch salt continuously from a bag is nice. Just park it and put the included cover on it. The patterns can change by three adjustable blocking plates that can be moved up for wider spread or put them down for tighter spread. Simplicity it is but functional. Tires will last a lifetime because it’s not going to be driven like a car thousands of miles. It scoots along nicely and the handle bars have a pull to open the salt port. The Auger spins keeping everything flowing and the underside spreader distributes the salt. Built to last many moons. Like I said, it’s a tidy fit anywhere salt distributor. Four Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!
