Very thick, very stiff, and worst of all, poorly made: seams do not match, sewing is sloppy, threads are everywhere that were not cut off, and the inside cell phone pocket is upside down... in fact that whole panel inside was put in upside down which makes one of its nice features totally useless. And this is supposed to be a high quality product! I don't think so. Strap is nice and long and zipper fobs are nice quality with the brand name on them. Obviously I got a defective item though no real fault of the shipper. I have reordered a black one and will update the review when I get that one. I got the black one and it is a world different. It is nicely made, softer, no threads, all pockets and zippers are correct. So I have upgraded my rating to 4-stars.

Almost perfect for my needs. I use it constantly. Has quality look and feel. I just would have liked it slightly larger - maybe a 1/2 inch on the length and width.

For my purposes this is a great bag
I've used a bag for many years. I don't carry a huge amount of stuff, but honestly, I don't know how guys carry what they need without a bag like this. Otherwise stuff just comes spilling out of your pockets and is really uncomfortable, and it's still hard to carry enough. I carry a steno pad (always, and it's made to fit it just right), a small camera (yes, a real camera, in addition to what's on my phone), a pen, earphones, small medication box, folder with credit and other cards, sunglasses and reading glasses, and a small tripod. And there are compartments left over for other stuff which I don't even regularly use. The construction is very nice. It's real leather, not bonded leather, and is nicely stitched. It's just exactly the right size for what I need (for me defined largely by that steno pad), and it's not easy to find something this well put together that's just the right size, with lots of pockets.

Hello,I am returning the Claire Chase hand bag, I am a bit disapointed since the bag is smaller than it appears on the computer screen. I also did not like the compartments and wish it was possible to see more of the inside of the bag before I purchase it, I have just return from vacation and have used the other bag and rated it at four stars. would you be kind enough to let me know what steps I have to take to return this item. This bag is perfect for me
I'm a guy. I don't carry a purse! Not until last summer. I learned of the utility of a "man bag" from our tour guide in Croatia a year ago. I carry my cash, cards (in a small separate card holder), iPad mini, sketchbook (5"x7"), audio recorder, external mic, ear buds, sport camera, SD card holder, tape measure, cell phone, business cards, & 3 pens. I bought a caribiner to hang my keys from the metal link for the carry strap and had my shoe repair guy sew a pocker for my small "dumb phone." It's all there. The only thing I carry in my pocket is loose change. It's perfect for me. If I designed it myself, I'd add a segmented credit card pocket and pen loops on the inside.

Perfect for my requirements
Once beyond keys and wallet in my pocket I decided to carry a "bag" not to drop things out of my pocket. Size is comfortable to carry. Leather and construction quality excellent. All pockets zippered. Has handle along with shoulder strap, which I find I am using more than strap. My second Claire Chase product. I like this one better because it is somewhat bigger and can hold more stuff.

Excellent shoulder Bag
i recomend this bag for people wants to carry not too much things, ie ipad mini, kindle, documents, keys, some papers, some notebook. the bag is made with genuine lether, i bougth the distressed model, im very happy with it. the bag is equal to the pictures. perhaps 8 x 10 inches would be better for some ocassions, but for me it is ok.
