For a snug fit, go with street shoe size...
Okay, so I went along with the reviews and bought 1-2 sizes bigger than my daughter's actual street shoe size of 12.5/13 (depending on the shoe). I bought sizes 1 & 2, and figured I would return the shoe that didn't fit (no pun intended). Well, size 2 was huge and clearly much too big for dance, and size 1 fit, but not the way a dance shoe should...way too much room in the ankle and toe area (the last 2 pics). Now, I am by no means a dance expert, but i am almost sure that jazz shoes should be a snug fit so that they don't fall off the feet during the dance routines. So, I quickly realized that the bigger sizes were not going to work. I went back and ordered her actual shoe size of 13 (the first 2 pics), and it fit her snug around the ankles, with a little room in the toes. Although they are snug, by the time she puts on her tights, the shoes will fit the way they were intended to. Now you can definitely go bigger, to get a couple of years wear out of them, but to me the fit is awkward if you choose to go bigger. As for the quality of the shoe, it seems decent for the price but its too early to tell, we'll see how they hold up after a few months. The truth of the matter is, I would love to save money and buy her shoes that she can grow into and wear for a few years, but, I have come to realize that dance is an expensive activity. At least these are easier on the pocket than capezios, and at this price, it is much more affordable to get her another pair when she grows out of this pair.

Great jazz shoe so far!
We ordered these jazz shoes because the price was so good, and they look identical to the Capezio brand. The reviews for this shoe did not deter us from buying because we could tell that the people leaving reviews about how tight they go on and the sizing being off from the size of street shoe a dancer wears, have absolutely no experience with dance shoes. Jazz shoes are supposed to be tight around where the leg and foot meet. Even Capezio brand fit tightly. As for these shoes being off in size compared to street shoe sizes, YES it's true, that's also how dance shoes tend to be. It's no surprise, for me, as a former dancer myself and having two daughters in dance. My oldest wears a street shoe size 2.5. We got her a jazz shoe size of a 4 because they do 'run small'. Please be aware of this before you order. The size 4 fits her perfectly, with a tad bit of room in the toe area. My daughter was happy with how they went on and also how they felt on her foot. No complaints as of yet. I will update should there be any issues that arise.

Like Goldilocks: Just Right (only slightly roomy)
I originally ordered a Dance Class jazz shoe for my daughter in a size 1 (her street size). It was WAY too small, so I ordered a size 3. It was huge! So, I got smart. I ordered all three tan jazz shoes that are offered by Dance Class, all in a size 2. They are dramatically different sizes for the same size shoe. The shoes in the photo are both Dance Class brand, size 2 shoes. The one on the left is the LP600, the one on the right is the JB600. We ended up keeping the GB600, which was in-between these two shoes in size (not pictured), but most comfortable for my daughter (that was also a size 2).

Much smaller than usual size
Shoe is significantly smaller than usual size. Had to return the 1st pair. Bought a size one which is her usual size. Had to buy a size 3 to fit correctly. Once correct size was purchased, the shoe is great!

Needed jazz shoes in a hurry, these worked well!
We bought these and had them overnighted via Amazon Prime as our daughters started dancing and we couldn't find their size locally except at one store with rude employees and exorbitant pricing. Our eldest wears a child's 12 in a tennis shoe so that's what we ordered here. These fit snugly on her foot while not being too small. We did have to stretch them initially just a bit to get them on. We found the easiest way was to put the front of her foot in the shoe and them grab under the heel of the shoe and push back towards the back of her foot and up. They go on pretty easily after her 2nd class now. She loves them, and says they are comfortable. I hope we can make it through the year in these without her outgrowing them. If not, we will be back here ordering another pair!

BUY 1 SIZE UP!!!!
This is a nice shoe and very good quality. The color is perfect. I only wish they would have fit. I ordered her a size 2 in BIG KID. She is actually in between a 1.5 and 2 in all other shoes. These fit more like a size 1. She could barely squeeze them on, and there was no way she'd be able to break them in for a better fit. I wish they had time to buy a size up, but dance starts today. I am writing this review while printing my return label to mail it back. All in all -- get 1 size up, at least. If you do, I think you will be very happy. Side note... the box was demolished in the package. It isn't a big deal. I just hope it doesn't affect my return.

Worked great for us. Size was spot on.
My daughter wears an 8 and the 8's in the dance shoe fit with just a tiny bit of room in the toe which is perfect. I bought a 9 also because the reviews said they run small, but the 9 was too big. The only complaint I have is that opening is a bit big. It doesn't fit snugly around her ankle like it should. But they work just fine for a 3 year old!

Cute, but too big
I shouldn't have read the previous reviews that stated that they were really small and to order larger. I did that and they are too big for my daughter. They look like high quality shoes, though.
