Solid unit

I've been using this little light for around two years now. I use it as my primary inspection light as an helicopter mechanic. It rides in my shirt pocket, ready instantly. This light replaced a 2 C-cell Mag light. It's perfect for looking in small holes and hard to see areas on aircraft. There is nothing cheap about the build quality. The body of the light is high quality. The intensity of the light is way beyond what you'd expect from such a small unit, yet the economy of battery usage is amazing. Sometimes I change batteries just worrying that they might start to corrode rather than needing to change them due to low power. Several of my co-workers have this exact light and all are very happy with it. This is a rugged, very well made, extremely bright light that will not "eat" batteries. If I lost mine, I would immediately replace it with another of the same model.

Great durable flashlight, but just FYI it is not focusable.

This is a great flashlight, I replaced my Stream Light Stylus Pro with a Coast G20 because the Stream Lights kept breaking, when turning it on the light would flash a lot or wouldn't come on at all and that was with new batteries. I then replaced the G20 with this one since I didn't like the perfect circle that the G20 made, there was no even cast off on the edges of the beam. Like another reviewer, I am a helicopter mechanic by trade, and this light works great. I don't have to worry about it getting damaged from drops, oil, fuel, or other chemicals. Trust me I have use the heck out of it, some much so that the bluing is actually starting to wear through, and this thing keeps going. I have gotten all kinds of chemicals on it like MEK, aviation fuel, oils, hydraulic fluid; I have dropped it from top of the aircraft to the ground, which on a Bell 407 that is around 10 feet, and it didn't even turn off when it hit the ground. The battery life is great, it uses 2 'AAA' batteries and I put rechargeable ones in it, and with using it every day at work and at home, the batteries still last me well over 3 weeks. I have even went over a month and not had to change the batteries. There is one issue with it that I want to point out, but it is not really an issue with the product itself, more of an issue with Amazon's description. This is not an adjustable focus light, it is a constant focus. If you want the adjustable focus you will have to get the HP3. I have noticed that Amazon's descriptions for all of the Coast flashlights are incorrect, so if you want the real specifications on the lights visit Coast's website, it is CoastPortland dot com/flashlights. When it is all said and done though, I love this flash light as well as the 4 other Coast flashlights that I own.

Great quality and function for the money. I recommend.

I have several of the single AAA version that I am happy with so I purchased this one for a higher power option. It is very bright and compact. I will be using this for inspection at my work which is manufacturing related. I prefer the AAA lights to the rechargeable ones as you can still use rechargeable batteries but can throw in standard batteries when needed. The on/off button is exposed which is good and bad. Good because it is easy to turn on/off but bad because to can accidently turn it on while traveling or if you stash it in your pocket. Excelente lampara

Excelente lampara da una iluminación muy buena ya tenía la hp1 a pesar que la hp4 es más pequeña ilumina mejor, la compré para reemplazar una maglite solitaire y da un poco más de iluminación, valió la pena la compra y me salió en $ 207
