Solid hiking pant

Columbia is one of my favorite brands of clothing for outdoor activities like hiking. These pants are of the usual high quality and have lots of useful features. They do not have a button closure as the listing indicates. They do feature two front slash/hand pockets, an extra small zip pocket set on the seam behind one of them, a single back set-in pocket with a small loop above it on the waistband, and side pockets on the thighs. While some activities just call for an easier pull-on pant rather than a more flattering zip/button/belt loop/patch pocket style, the ankle cinches, when tightened, convert these elastic-waistband pants from somewhat dowdy to a sportier and more youthful look. The fabric is light, stretchy, and cool, and the UV-blocking is a great feature. Unfortunately, and I don't know if it was my mistake or the store's, I was expecting a size S but received a size M, and smaller sizes in the stone green color are currently out of stock, so I won't be able to use these. Still, if you can get them in your regular size, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Comfy pants, brand name, multiple uses

Wife loves these pants. They are comfortable, and from where we sit, you can't go wrong with most Columbia products. -- These are likely durable enough for outdoor (i.e., hiking/camping trips), but you could also wear them on the lower end of a business casual outfit, depending on your employer and your style.

Good but short on me

I normally wear a medium and while the waist and top part of the pants is good and feels very comfortable it is short on me. I am 5' 7" and it reaches me a few inches above the bottom of where my regular pants end. I would have loved it if they were a bit taller in length as they don't look like capris or pants. So I'm in the middle of them and they do have a strap to tighten the bottom but it still didn't look nice as it didn't really reach the length I needed it to. Other than that the material was great and the pants looked really pretty when worn.

Great Columbia quality, wish it had a drawstring.

Standard Columbia quality that one would expect. I removed one star because I wish it had a drawstring or way to tighten the waist. I am a size 10 pants and ordered a Large as I have a larger butt and wanted to ensure it fits. The waist is a bit big and there's no way to tighten it.

10 stars--I LOVE these pants!

Oh man, if I could wear these every single day, I would. I love these pants!! They are absurdly comfortable--they've got a thick waistband, have a bit of stretch in them, and they don't wrinkle much at all. Once, I ended up wearing them to school (I'm a teacher) and no one even noticed that they were basically fancy sweatpants, haha. I literally wear them as soon as they are clean and back in my drawer. The only issue I have with them is that they are $60 (at the time of this review). I think that is too much money to pay for pants like this. They feel amazing, they wash and wear great, they look awesome...maybe all of that is true because they are at a higher price point? It just feels expensive to me. BUT, I LOVE THEM. I would buy them in all the colors if I could afford them, hahaha! You will not regret owning these pants--they are amazing.

Lightweight and fits comfortablly

Love these pants! I am a big hiker and trail walker so these pants fit my needs perfectly. They are lightweight and fit very comfortably. I went a size up because I wanted something loser for activities. I am glad I did - normally I wear a 4 and I grabbed a 6 and they fit nicely on the waist, which is what I was concerned about. I will be wearing these on hikes and trail walks regularly due to the protection and lightweight materials.

Flattering!

I had ordered a Small size (which is the smallest it offers) and the inseam is roughly 2-3 inches long on me. I'm 5'3" and 115 lb and the waistband is a bit large as well. That being said, the pans are incredibly comfortable and weighted well. They feel cool and 100% mobile. The waistband is not adjustable but it is very forgiving and it's lined all around so it never sits uncomfortably anywhere on your torso. The fabric is UV protective and dries quickly. It's a great hiking pant and surprisingly flattering. The ankles have a drawstring to tighten the pants. Both left and right pockets are very deep. The right side has a zippered compartment for small things that need a bit more security. There's also a bilateral thigh pocket on both sides with a stretch opening that is good for a flashlight or a cell phone.

The perfect hiking pant

These pants are a hikers dream. They are super comfortable and stretchy giving that perfect fit. These pants have a thick waistband. The cuff has an elastic stop to draw close around your ankle, otherwise they are a straight fit. Pockets all over and in the right places. One on the rear buttock, a pocket on each side of the leg perfect place to stash a snack or small flashlight. There’s are two regular pant pockets which are deep. The right pocket has a zipper pocket which is also deep to keep those important items from getting lost. If you have short legs like me they may be a little long on you.
