Great winter coat

I live in a warm climate so I don't have a ton of experience buying "serious" winter clothes, but I needed a better coat for traveling to snowy mountain areas. I'm really pleased with this coat! I wore it in the mountains when the temperature was around 15 degrees F, and with proper layers underneath I was really comfortable. I also wore this coat on a trip to Denmark in late November, where the weather was cool (40s F) and wet the entire time. I felt warm enough without having to layer too heavily underneath, and the coat kept me dry in the rain. I also like how lightweight this coat is, it's very convenient for travel and walking around a city. Design-wise, the coat is actually quite cute, especially with the belt. It's also got lots of pockets and helpful features like a 2-way zipper, which is great for those of us w/ hips to unzip a little bit from the bottom when sitting down. It has elastic inner cuffs around the wrists, which are great for keeping out the chill. I'm usually a size small (5'4", 135 lbs., US size 6), but I ended up getting this coat in a Medium to allow for more layering underneath. Overall, I love this coat and would strongly recommend it for anyone who needs an affordable but warm winter coat.

Great waterproof travel coat!

Love this coat! A number of pockets I can use while traveling. Waterproof, insulated & has a hood! Specifically purchased this for a trip next year to Scotland. I have a Prana coat that I use for my commute to work but it’s longer, heavier, & doesn’t have enough pockets. I need the pockets so I can use my coat as a purse. I don’t carry a purse while I’m out at night. I wanted the Malbec-color one but it only came in medium. One issue with Columbia is that they have a weird sizing. I usually wear a medium in coats, but I had to size up to a large. Columbia coats have a high-cut armhole. (If you’re a sewer, you know what I mean.). The medium sits right under my armpits, no chance of wearing a sweater with this jacket if I kept this size. Returned it for a large in Elk which now makes the length of the arms too long. For reference, I’m 5’1” and weigh 138, but I have a 38DDD chest and narrow hips. Everywhere else the coat is very roomy but at least it now zips up over my chest and I can wear a sweater under it. Another positive is that it has a zipper & snaps on the placket. No velcro, which is great! I hate Velcro on my jackets because it always catches on my scarves & if I leave the jacket unzipped, I have to look at the ugly square patches of Velcro that show.

There’s only one thing wrong with this coat

I ditched the belt, It was in the wrong place for me. I am short .

Great coat

I specifically bought this for a rainy cold week in Paris. It delivered and then some. It fits true to size and is a very flattering cut which is further enhanced with the belt. It kept me warm and dry. Lots of pockets for gloves, hats, phones. The fur on the hood is removable. It was a very good buy for the money. I bought the flint grey but it was more of a light khaki. I still like it but not the color I expected. Would recommend very highly.

LOVE this jacket for travel

I bought this for travel to the Netherlands at christmas. So so happy with my purchase. It is great for winter weather. I’m taking it to Boston and then Europe. This is so well made and the hat comes off as well. The insulation is great as well. Wearing it open when it was not as hot was great. The look is so clasic. Nice cut for women’s frame. I al 5’7 140 lbs. and it fits great with a little room if you were to wear something that is thicker. The best part for me is that I can wear a thin sweater or Henley and be warm outside but not hot inside. So adorable!

Warm!

This coat is perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Kept me warm on a 7 degree day. The sleeves are a little long but I’m short, so I’m sure if you’re taller than 5’2 it’s perfect.

Wonderful fall/mild winter jacket.

I absolutely love this jacket. I was looking for a waterproof, warm jacket, thats not too bulky or shapeless. I love how well this jacket is tailored, the belt cinches it in at the waist for even more added shape. The color is... odd but ok as a neutral. It keeps me warm with nothing more underneath than a thin shirt. Keeps the rain out, and in the pacific north west that's an absolute must. It's not too utilitarian looking either which I love. It has NINE pockets. NINE. For a woman's garment thats unheard of but very welcome. I cannot recommend this jacket more. Don't see myself wearing it in the thick of winter, but up to maybe just above freezing temperatures it should be just fine. Size up for sure. I'm usually a size large and I got the XL, and it fit perfectly. Columbia sizing can be tricky and is one of the more annoying parts about the brand. I have garments that range from medium to xl from them, they must work harder to standardize. They DO make great jackets though.

Great coat

I love this coat it is very warm but light weight. I would have given it a 5 star rating but the belt is way too big for the coat. Miles too big. It has great pockets and warm hood that isn't huge. There is sherpa lining in the hood and neck for added warmth. Very disappointed about the belt.

Good-looking and waterproof

I bought this jacket and I am very happy with how well it fits. It has lots of little pockets, which is very practical, and lots of little details that make it a great light jacket. The wrist warmers feel great and its technology makes the fabric warm and easy to wear.
