Really useful!

Using this thermometer is so much easier than cutting into the food to see if it’s done how I like it, simple but great for the price!

Hard to pull out. Probably get better with time.

Hard to pull out. Not a fan of the pocket clip. Reads well and very fast response time. Mainly just used to old school one i had forever. Learning curve.

5 stars all around for the only thermometer brand/model we purchase and use day long in a commercial kitchen. Do purchase extra batteries though!

Best bang for your buck

Bought 2 of these a couple years ago for family and they still are used and accurate. Taylor/Atkins is the best brand for this.. Been in the commercial food equipment service business 20 years and it is the Go To brand for food integrity testing. As quick of a reading as you can get unless you want to spend a couple hundred dollars

Fast read out

Cooper bio therms is the only brand I use in my kitchen. Normally one can handle about 3 years of abuse before no longer working. When they start to die the first thing I’ve noticed is you can temp the same item in almost the same spot multiple times and get drastically different readings each time

Accurate out of the package

Update 17 Dec 2021: I still use and enjoy using this thermometer regularly. To make it perfect in my eyes, I would (in order of importance to me): - make the buttons larger (they're a bit hard to press because they bend sideways easily) - add a dedicated "hold" button instead of one button that cycles between hold, min, and max modes - add a backlight - make the clip more useful Copper sells another thermometer (the DPP800W MAX) that appears to fix three of these issues (larger buttons, dedicated hold button, better clip) and also has a longer probe. I'm giving one as a gift to a family member and will try to update this review to give my thoughts. Update, 20 Mar 2020: Really enjoy using this thermometer while cooking at home, use it multiple times per week. Even though it's not instant read, I'd say it usually approaches temp within about 3 seconds. If I could change anything about it, I'd love for it to have a backlight as I often use it outside at night while cooking on the grill. Original review from 17 Sep 2019: Haven't gotten a chance to use it much yet, but I tested it right out of the package in some boiling water and ice water and it read 100.1 C and 0.8 C respectively, well within the stated accuracy tolerances. Wanted to add some photos of the packaging for anyone who's interested. Display is easy to read as long as there's light, and it's very intuitive to use if you just want to take some temps or switch between F and C. It has a few more advanced features like HOLD/MIN/MAX and turning off the auto-shutoff, just read the directions and it's pretty easy to figure out.

Basically the perfect thermometer for cooking. HVAC? Not so much.

I loved this thermometer. It read fast, was water proof and durable, and very fine in its measurement. I now use it for steak and foods and it is a chef's dream when you don't have a probe. I used to use it for HVAC before moving on to a UEI one. This thermometer's buttons are sensitive and turn on in your pocket making you go through batteries. There is no way to mount it to a vent which was another hassle. I can still recommend it for reliability, accuracy, and speed of reading for HVAC. However, I prefer the UEI for its magnetized back and folding probe. I can supremely recommend it for cooking.

Expensive

It is a nice little thermometer to test water temperature in a hospital setting, but the price is a bit high for my taste. You can find other, cheaper ones that do the same thing.

This item works as described.

I use this product to measure the water temperature when I do winter swimming. I get a ready within less than 5 second. It does exactly what I was hoping for.

Not durable

Bought this in February 2020 and by July it wasn't working anymore. Tried changing out battery but still not working. It's a disappointment that it barely lasted 6 months.
