Kids bday

Bought for my daughter for her 12th birthday. She had an issue getting the lights in at first but she took it back apart and tried a different way. It’s cute and she’ll enjoy it for a little while.

Construction Using Weaving + Origami Techniques

Reading the other reviews, I think what throws some people off in terms of the instructions is that they are expecting something that uses more standard "lego/building block" techniques, but these kits use sturdy plastics pieces and joiners that use a combination of weaving and origami techniques. So for example, pre-creasing all the square pieces before joining them together will make the assembly a lot easier. I wouldn't gift this to kids under 10 and maybe not under 12 because the pieces are quite hard to manipulate and takes both strength and dexterity to assemble (especially weaving in the joiners in some tight places). These kits take more patience than the packaging and presentation would suggest. It's oddly marketed as a kid's toy but most kids would not enjoy the assembly. The elephant took me about an hour to assemble. The end product is surprisingly sturdy and attractive, especially once lit up.

Difficult to assemble

The written directions are hard to follow and the video instructions don’t include anyone speaking. It took an adult and 10 year old 2+ hours to build the snake and even then it wasn’t assembled completely correct.

Dude, these things are AWESOME!

This set is SUPER DOPE. Better if adult helps with child, great bonding activity. I recommend having a chunk of uninterrupted time putting it together. ALSO, I used USB power plug fairy lights instead of the battery ones that come with the set, the outcome will be better. The reason is I hate changing out batteries if I don't have to. Try to find lights with a power plug or USB cable. You'll need around 50 LED lights. If you have a wifi lights hub or Alexa hub it's compatable. So long story short. The animal you put together will look awesome in your child's room and glow bright forever. Happy crafting! Thank you Creatto, you guys are bomb!

Very cool, but you might end up building it for your kid

Got this for my 5 year old - was thinking with 6+ rating would have me somewhat involved but there would be a lot he could do with some assistance. That was not accurate thinking...I pretty much built the entire thing. The folds and connectors take far more precision than either my 5 or 6 year old could do. The end result is cool, but even I was frustrated with the building process! I think the bigger version (Shark) is 8+ but I would put that age on this as well.

Much Harder Than Anticipated

I should have believed the other reviews about this being very difficult to put together, but like a lot of people probably thought I said "but I love putting things together! How hard can this be?" HARD. The plastic is very stiff and hard to work with. The pieces are very difficult to get together, to the extent that my hands and fingers were hurting by the time I finished building the 'lantern'. Also, as others noted, the instructions are only pictures which can be hard to follow when you are doing the more complex formations. It does look really cool once it's together and the (very, very bright) lights are added, hence giving more than one star, but there is no way this could be put together by a child, especially a small 6+ child. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this as a gift for a kid or someone who would get frustrated easily. It would probably be good for someone who really loves a challenge and unique lights.

Cumple con su funcion

El material es bastante resistente; pero como indicaron otros compradores, es necesario la ayuda de un adulto para armarlo; y tambien es necesario fijar con cinta adhesiva las luces, o de otro modo de mueven y el efecto de iluminación no es el mismo. Por lo demas, me pareció buena compra y sirve como lampara de noche para los niños.

Not That Easy to Put Together

Great looking when completed, but instructions were not terribly helpful. Could not figure out which side was out and which was in. Eventually figured it out by what you had to fold. The box figure provided better guidance tan the step by step instructions. I'm not sure kids can put together without help.

Lindo pero complicado

Está muy padre la idea, pero es un tanto complicado para un niño de armar, si requiere de un adulto, y el manual que viene no es del todo claro, sin embargo, después de algunas horas se puede lograr armar ya apreciar, y no lo desarmaría de nuevo.

Excellent product for kids

Excellent product for the kids. It's quite a challenge for 8yr old kid but get them to help, adult will have to join it up. Will take a while to figure out the instructions even for adults. However, it's worth the effort upon completion. The lights are amazing and really add ambience to the room.
