Finally, a wiring adapter that actually works

I've tried the "made-for-this-old-toyota-pickup" wiring adapters from two different companies and neither worked. Years ago I had a splice-in adapter but that one eventually died. So, I had the old splice points I but I needed to figure out which was wire was for which light. A 12V LED lamp with wires soldered on as test probes helped troubleshoot that. Once I had the adapter all wired in, it worked perfectly. The "bad" was that there was no length of wire or fuse to run to the battery and the butt splice was missing. And it's a bit of a pain to wire in. But, since the thing cost about $35 and it works I'll rate this a solid 4 stars. Very good bang for your buck.

Reliability and work as designed

This trailer light kit works really well and installation with the aid of youtube video and search online for my particular vehicle, 2002 X5, I was able to install it in about 2.5 hours of work. That's taking it slowly and doing it methodically. Electronics are very picky on the BMW and this kit worked well and thus far, I have had 0 errors reported by the onboard computer. Great kit.

It works?

First trailer, installed on a motorcycle, so it was nice it was so small. I don't have anything to compare it to, Works even better when you reconnect the positive wire and splice in a whole new one before you realize you are an idiot... there is a reason support techs always ask "is it plugged in?" at the beginning of all trouble shooting.. do'h!!

Works but not smiling

Pretty easy to install this needed adapter for my bmw led lighting. What I didn't like is the circuitry in the adapter wasn't built to where "when pressing the brakes" it wouldn't cause the trailer lights to blink at opposite polarity of the car's turn signal. And to me, the fix isn't having support tell me, "it's not required that they blink together"

Don’t buy last second might need another

So it’s a neat product but had many issues out the box converter has scuffs and dents. Wired everything and hooked up my trailer and none of the lights worked. Lights would intermittently work and I had to turn the hazard on to turn the lights on. Connected the trailer to my other car and everything work. Did some testing and everything checked ok. Then found that it was not grounding at the wire but at the ball. Went the the auto part store picked up a converter there and hooked it up the same way I hooked up this one. Connected my trailer and everything worked. Found that the converter was shorting internally at the ground wire.

Works OK

Only issue I have is I have to put my foot on the brake pedal to get the 4 way flashers to work. Once they start working I can release the brake pedal and they will continue to flash. Everything else works fine.
