A great bike light
Bright and safe, multiple patterns built in. Charge lasts for over a month for mild ridingZ would recommend to a friend.

Very Bright; poor battery life
The brightness and various modes are undoubtedly unrivaled for this price range. But the battery life is relatively poor. Daylight flash mode lasts for about 3 hours. Furthermore, I am almost certain that the LED is white, and the light is filtered through a red filter. If this the case, it’s not a very efficient design. White light is inherently inefficient because it contain photons from across the electromagnetic spectrum, including high energy blue and violet photons. Red light is in the lower end of the spectrum and is less energetic, and hence its production requires less energy (light intensity is a completely different matter and is irrelevant here). Hence, using a red LED might increase battery life. I have to acknowledge that I may be missing other facts here, such as manufacturing costs (like they maybe using the same LED for their similar-looking headlight). Aside from battery life, a solid product!

Up date after 2 months: Great Light works on our helmets so we added more to our front forks.
New review after 2 months: We liked the ones we added to our helmets so much we bought two more each for our front forks. These are really bright but have variable settings and the charge easily last for the 4 dark hours each weekend and recharge after than in about 15 minutes. No problem with them falling off, or needing a safety leash, as we first worried about after reading some reviews. The stretchy strap is strong and the rubber pads on the back of the light keeps them from slipping down our tapered forks even on the roughest roads and trails. The bad is that the micro charging port is covered by a tiny rubber button attached to a very thin and easily torn gasket that seals the light. We have broken one already and now just cover the port with a small piece of duct tape so no real problem. It would be nice if they also sold replacement gasket / port covers as they are easily accessed with 2 small screws. We recommend them to friends and will buy more for the rear of our bikes once our much more expensive ones die. Original Review: As a professional product designer I would have given it 5 stars if they had designed the tabs you hook the rubber band over so that there was a slot behind them for a velcro strap, or they had hole in the frame to attach a safety leash. After adding them to our helmets I want to add them facing our from our front forks so we are more visible from the side. It seem all modern forks are tapered as the go down and I'm a little worried that they will slip down and fall off so stay tuned for a update on that.

very bright and has edge hooks to allow install on seat rails!
Unexpectedly better mounting directly under seat (on rails), out of the way and not on the seat post. Bright, stays on the bike, stays alive, and charges quickly!

Favorite tail light
I've had this light for 6 months and love it. It's very reliable with a long battery life and is super bright. I run it 5-6 hours at a time without issues. Highly recommend this light. It gets wet all the time and still works like new.

Bright, easy to operate
Great taillight - very bright, charges quickly, easy to operate, fast on-and-off the bike. We have two Cygolites, this one and a similar one that's not quite as bright but also great, and I highly recommend these. I think these are a great value. They use the same micro usb end as some of our other lights and bike computers, which is convenient when traveling.

Bright LED Light !
I am glad I took my Bicycling friend's advice and bought this easy to use and super bright rear bicycle safety light. Easy to install, recharges quickly. Multiple flashing patterns or steady on options to choose from. Recommendation = YES!!

Charging port cover broke off the second time I used it.
UPDATE: I contacted Cygolite who responded very promptly and efficiently and provided me with replacement parts to repair my light. Very easy to fix and now as good as new. And still a very good light indeed. I'll come to the good features in a moment. First, the lousy part. The second time I used it, the charging port cover broke off. I had charged the light once, properly replaced the charging port cover and reattached to my seat post. After the the ride, I took the light off my seat post and the charging port cover just fell off. So, I'm hoping that the other reviews about questionable waterproofing of the product are wrong as the charging port on mine is now open to the elements. It's the best I've found for the aero seat post on my Specialized Venge Vias, but it's still not perfect. My seat post tapers to a very narrow edge, so the light unit has to be perfectly balance on the edge or it will slip to the side under the tension of the strap. Other than those things, the functionality and display options are great, the brightness is good and battery life is average.

This thing is BRIGHT
It's easy to charge and use, although the elastic clip that holds it on the seat post doesn't seem like it will last more than a season. The little cover for the USB charging port has already fallen off (after little over a week of use). Depending on the mode, battery life is also kind of short - was out for about three hours with the bright flashing mode and it was dead when I got home. Everyone does tell me how bright it is. It's so bright that if you look directly at it (I probably shouldn't) other items in the field of view turn black and white.

So far... so good
I've only had this a couple of weeks, but I'm happy with it so far. Until now I've been using some cheap lights on my e-bike - you know the ones, they're round, have three LEDs and the same lights are sold by about a hundred different sellers? Those have very good reviews on Amazon, but not from me. Those are not good. Very dim, OK at night but not during the day. I want to be noticed by distracted car drivers when I'm out on the road. This Cygolite is so much brighter it's hard to believe. Just the thing for cycling along the rural roads where I live. Lots of different modes too. I usually set it to flash mode - drivers following can't miss it. I can't say anything about battery life yet, too soon to tell. I can update this review later if anything comes up. Bottom line - - a bit pricey but worth it, IMHO. Much better than the lights I had been using. I feel safer riding my e-bike with this light attached to my bike. ** Update: After several months and almost 1000km of use, here's a short update about this light. - still performing well, very bright as before. - battery life could be better. But it's acceptable for the brightness and the amount of cycling I do. Everything's a compromise, I wouldn't want to have longer batt life at the expense of the excellent visibility this Cygolite gives. - My E-bike has a USB port so I can charge the light while on the go, BUT - - the light cannot be used while it's charging, it goes into a charge mode. So, good and bad with that. Overall I'm still happy with this purchase and have recommended this light to friends..

BRIGHT! Great battery life, no complaints.
This light was really a phenomenal upgrade from my previous light. Honestly I almost feel like the daylight mode is almost too brigh - my wife commented after driving past me on my commute that she had never noticed a bike light before she saw this one and only afterwards realized it was me riding. Lots of modes to choose from and the battery life is great for what I need. I love the low profile and the strap is perfect for my road bike - I broke the strap on my previous light because it wasn't long enough for the aero part of my seat post. I can't see how you could get a better light for the money than this one.

Bright!
I suspect that this light prompts drivers behind me to pass because the blinking light is so much brighter by comparison to the tail lights of other vehicles. This is the brightest and most cost-effective rear bike light that I've owned. Battery life could be better, but I do a lot of cycle commuting and still only charge it once a week or longer. Never worry about being seen from behind at night anymore though!
