looks good from a distance...not glass

I've been looking for a Tiffany Style lamp to use in my 1920s Bungalow for a few years now. Finally settled on this lamp, and was nervous about the purchase since there were no other reviews. If I had seen the lamp in person before purchase, I would've taken a closer look, and most likely passed due to the materials used - even though I like the look, and from afar you can't really tell it's not glass, I was looking for something more high quality - and thought the price range insured higher quality materials than were used. Shade coloring was same as image. The bottom of the shade is a deep purplish color, background is a yellow/beige, leaves are green, berries are goldish/red/brownish...they vary. Base is a antiqued oil rubbed bronze coloring. Shade isn't glass as it's described, it's more of a plexiglass/painted plastic (guess that's the how you define "art glass"), and based on weight and texture I'm not sure it's soldering - not sure what it's made of. I really like the look of the shade, but I'm very disappointed that it's not actual glass. Again, I'm also disappointed in the price considering the quality of the materials...for that price, I expected a true stained glass shade. The packaging was awful. I was really nervous when I first saw it because the box was torn in several places, and I was worried the glass would be cracked...explains why it didn't have a fragile sticker on it. The styrofoam packaging was completely crumbling apart, and the cardboard box easily ripped when I was handling it. If I decide to return it, I'm concerned the box won't be sturdy enough. Again, based on the price, had much higher expectations.

Cheap knockoff — false description — faux materials

Description says "…shade has 189 total pieces of ART GLASS Material: METAL The base is BRONZE" Some unknown "material" in the description is listed as Poly Resin (aka PLASTIC). Turns out that's what the shade is made of. It is NOT ART GLASS as it claims in the description. The base is NOT BRONZE METAL, as claimed in the description — it appears to be plaster-of-Paris. I GENTLY bumped it against the edge of a table and 2 chips were knocked off, leaving an exposed white surface. THIS IS A CHEAP KNOCKOFF OF A TIFFANY-STYLE LAMP.

Beautiful!

This lamp came packaged perfectly in styrofoam, and was easy to assemble. I am so pleased with the way it looks. It looks like it cost much more, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Typical Dale Tiffany Quality

Perfect height desk lamp at a measured height of 23".(there is a bit of confusion on the exact height - depending on which site you find this lamp on). The stained glass shade was produced with the typical Dale Tiffany quality. I like this particular shade because it is not too "Busy" - as many Tiffany lampshades are a bit too loud and colorful for my taste. Lamp uses two full-size Type "A" bulb socket that gives flexibility in lighting schemes and bulb choices. Many lamps this size or smaller use the limiting candelabra bulbs. One complaint: The pineapple bronze finish base of the lamp is beautiful and sturdy. Strangely, a protective/sticky coating was spray applied to the base in a clumpy/haphazard fashion. The coating settled and dried as a white film in the many nooks and crannies in the highly detailed base. I almost returned the lamp for this reason - since the white powdery coating reduced the beauty of the base quite a bit. I didn't give up, though - I scrubbed the white, waxy coating off (over the sink) with water and a cotton cloth. I used wooden toothpicks to scrape the coating out of the many narrow places it had settled into. It took about an hour, but the result was worth it. If not for the sloppy spray coating on the base, I would have given this lamp 5 stars. I finished off with a thin film of furniture polish. Voila!

Poor quality and workmanship!!

Can't see how anyone could give this lamp more than 2 stars. Mine was drop shipped from their warehouse in CA. Like the other reviewer mine came with a white coating on the resin base, impossible to remove with just water. Any other type of solvent would probably take the stain off the base. (see pics). The solder/paint joints on the shade had gaps in them. (see pics). Not what I would expect for a DT lamp at this price. I returned the lamp to the store I purchased it from and emailed DT about the defects. Edit: I received a reply from DT. They said that the base has a "White Wash" finish and the white coating is normal for this lamp. So why does the image here not show that. The description states that the base has a "Beautiful Mica Bronze Finish". No mention of any white wash. I would have not have purchased this lamp if I had known that it has a "White Wash" finish. Also said that the solder joints are covered with a "black patina". Obviously on my lamp someone did a very bad job of covering the solder joints with the "black patina". So be aware before you purchase this lamp that the website image does not match what the lamp actually looks like.
