Useful and pretty

This hourglass is very pretty and functional. I timed how long the sand runs for at 31.5 minutes. It is well made and I have not noticed it being angled or off balance at all. The base has a nice weight and the glass is fairly thick - making me hopeful that it won't break. The knobs on the side make it easy to adjust the tightness for rotating the hourglass. I haven't had any issues with the sand clogging but would guess that this wouldn't be suited to super humid environments (like a bathroom or sauna) where it's likely to get moisture inside. It seems to be a tad on the expensive side but that's okay.

Love this hourglass

Love this hourglass. Very beautiful. Looks very expensive, we have it on display in our dining room and set it on the table every night at dinner as a timer for my 5 year old (who loves to dilly dally during dinnertime). I haven't timed it exactly, but I know its about 30 minutes. The sand falls smoothly. Sometimes the little nobs on the side need to be tightened but thats easy and just done with the fingers. I searched high and low for just the right hourglass that was in the right price range as well as beautiful enough to keep in view at all times and as the entry to our home (as that is the position of our dining room). So glad I found this one.

Transition Timer in My Classroom

As a teacher, I use this hourglass for my students to earn free time. They have enjoyed visually seeing how long transitions took from one activity to another. This has been such an effective tool. The quality of the product is worth the price. I don't believe it was created for daily and hourly use because I often have to tighten the screws on the side to ensure the clock doesn't shift. Nonetheless, it works for me!

My mom loved it

This product arrived exactly as advertised. It’s a nice size and it was packaged perfectly, no damage at all. The timer is accurate and it looks very smart and classy. It’ll add character to the room you put it in. I gave it to my mom for her birthday. She loved it.

Elegant timer

It looks just like the picture with the exception of a couple tiny scratches on it. The bolts that should tighten to hold the timer in place don't hold tightly, but we added a couple washers and problem fixed. I took away 1 star just because I had to fix it so it holds tight.

It's pretty much exactly what you see

It's pretty much exactly what you see. I only paid $36.....it says the regular price is $137!! ROFL....ok, somebody is smoking some crack! Granted, it is sturdy, glass is nice and thick, heavy duty......but $137....I don't think so. Some reviewers said it's off on the 30 minutes for timing. I haven't checked....I don't really care. It's for decoration.

I love it.

Exactly as pictured and works perfectly. This timepiece has a delightful kind of steampunk look to it, and has garnered complements. We use it in my writing group to time people's turns so everyone gets a chance to read. Note that it's kind of a brushed brass finish, not a shiny brass. I love it.
