Lovely Lantern

Quality item. Sturdy metal and roping handle with thick, heavy duty glass. Great for nautical decorating.

Rusted upon arrival

I love the candle holder but the metal is already rusted right out of the box. It’s going on a table on a balcony near the ocean so I was expecting it to rust but on my time. Other than that, the glass and rope seem thick and sturdy.

These are huge!!

I wish the listing included a photo in context, to give you an idea of the size. If like me you assumed these are big enough to hold a candle—you'll be surprised when they get delivered in two giant boxes. They're huge. The diameter of a dining plate. I'm not sure what to do with these, and return shipping isn't free. They were also pretty dusty. Otherwise decent, I suppose.

Rope handle not secured well

Overall this lantern is what I wanted for our livingroom. It’s large enough to make a statement without over powering the area where it sits and is very pleasing to the eye. That said, we’ve since learned the lantern handle is very poorly made. My hubby went to move the lantern so he could clean the table, and gently picked it up by the handle. The handle came right out of the fastened end, and shattered onto the table which was only an inch or two below the lantern when the handle let go. So disappointing! For the price I paid I would have expected better quality craftsmanship and execution of the design. If you purchase this lantern, don’t ever hold it by the handle.
