Not new, missing parts - very disappointed. Buyer beware of "The Delta Store"

It is clear that what I was shipped was not new. I bought two and they appear to have been scrounged from somewhere. There are no screws holding the plaster guard to the valve, one of the mounting ears was bent, they were simply dropped in a non descript box with a couple of air bag pads affording absolutely no protection during shipping, no instruction/installation sheet. A couple of the Pex A fittings appear to be nicked which may cause them to leak; I only hope they actually work.

PEX fittings are 3/4”

I’m sure the product would work fine, but the description failed to mention size of PEX fittings. They are 3/4” and I needed 1/2”. Had to return.

PEX-A NEEDS an expansion tool to work

If you don't have the expansion tool this will not work for you. It IS 1/2" fittings for a different type of pex than is used by the average DIY'er. If you do have the expansion tool or can borrow/rent one this is about as good as it gets. We use pex-a often in our bathroom remodels. It's nice because it doesn't choke the inside of the pipe down to 3/8" inside the fittings. Its expands the pipe over a fitting that is truly 1/2". Delta has the easiest valve bodies to install by FAR! In a standard 2x4 wall, just slap a 2x4 in the stud bay as far back as it will go and screw the valve to it. It is now the perfect depth for any tile shower with 1/2" backer board and tile. You're welcome.
