Nice shower faucet

We've always used Delta faucets in our house and their quality is excellent. This shower head does not dis-appoint. It includes two separate control levers - one for heat/cold and the other for flow on/off. The heat control lever can be adjusted but it maintains its setting from use to use so all you have to do for each shower is twist the main flow valve and the water temperature is the same as your last shower. With the faucet mounted at standard height on the wall, the removable head extends to a foot off the floor. This will be nice for giving our dog a bath. The water pressure is fine out of the box but I was able to add more by removing "water saving restrictors" inside both heads.

What happened to quality?

I’m a little bummed about these as they were almost $200 a piece. I’ve looked at multiple shower heads and building materials are just made so cheaply these days. We couldn’t try these until they were installed and the water drips out slowly, it’s not very powerful. Hardware is made cheap. I’d be okay with these if I paid $50-$100, but not $200.

Great shower head!

My plumber installed it. Wasn’t getting enough hot water, instructions online showed me how to remove the cap and adjust the hot water valve - cool option to prevent people from burning themselves. Once I did that I have perfect water temperatures and great options for a relaxing or thorough shower. It’s been a over a year now and it’s still great. Easy to clean.

Metal hose, arrived dented, looks good overall.

Reading some reviews, it appears the hose used to be rubber/plastic. Ordered one and it is metal cased, but stretches. Looks nice and hangs decent out of the package (ie: doesn't need to hang to forget any shape memory it acquired while packaged like a rubber/plastic hose would). Bad news is it arrived with a section of the hose dented. Contacted Delta and they provided a replacement. When it arrived, it was rubber (part RP64157RB). Contacted them again and they indicate the part I need (metal hose RP64021RB) is discontinued. Service part lookup on website confirms this. Faucet shows manufactured (or at least packaged) 12 days ago, so they must still be shipping with this discontinued part. I work for a company that sells service parts for 20+ years after producing the finished good. Why Delta can't provide parts while still shipping finished goods that include said part is beyond me. Overall, it looks good. Metal hose casing looks far superior to the plastic, if you can get metal. Yes there are some plastic pieces that would be better as metal (primarily the temp control and pieces of the head/ring), but overall looks good. Temp control being plastic doesn't bother me, as it is meant to be a secondary control. Set the temp you like and use the primary flow control knob for on/off. Flow isn't the greatest. Faucet has 1.5GPM rating stamped on it. Would like to see higher, since I live where we don't have droughts or water rationing. It'll get my dirty parts clean though, all except my mind :P

Dual-Function Handle Allows Set-It-And-Forget-It for Water Temp

This unit has now been in use for one year, and we've yet to experience any operational issues or broken parts. I've read other reviews and am equally concerned about Delta's use of cheap parts, but only in time will we know if this results in having to prematurely replace the unit (or the parts themselves). What we like: The price. For a sub-$200 unit, we feel if was a good value, especially when compared to other units available from other companies. Water pressure. We removed the flow restrictor and enjoy really good water pressure while using the spray option from both the handheld shower nozzle and its outer ring. The dual-function handle. This allows us to set the temperature of the water independently from the water pressure/volume control. Translation: no need to find your favorite water temperature each time you take a shower. This is especially useful when bathing the dog. As most of you know, when bathing a dog, there are times when you need to turn off the water while lathering your dog. This unit allows you to shut off the water without changing the temperature of the water. Very nice feature! What we don't like: The Outer ring that holds the inner shower nozzle doesn't provide a lot of confidence that it's not going to drop the inner nozzle. (I think it's fallen once or twice.) There's a minor "click" you feel when it's seated, but an update to the design would be nice to better secure it. The length of the shower hose is a bit short. Another foot of two would have been nice–especially for those using the unit to bath their doggies! We purchased a 10-foot hose replacement in the same oil-rubbed bronze color on Amazon for a few bucks. (Product = TECI Shower Hoses 119 Inch Extra Long Bathroom Hand Held) Hope this helps.

Conveniently functional

I love the functions of the shower head and it looks nice. However the water pressure is lacking. I’m not sure if it is the style of the shower head or something w the plumbing. The shower wand I have in my bathtub has a tremendous amount of water pressure so that leads me to think that this shower head is the issue but I don’t know that for sure.

Delta - Poor quality and Poor Design

Total garbage. Just had it installed by my plumber. The hose is cheap plastic that does not flex unless it has hot water running through it. I mean hot. The hand held shower sits in the shower head ring assembly very loosely and if you barely touch the hose by accident, the hand held shower pops out and falls. Horrible design. I can see this happening over and over and eventually the hand held shower cracking due to impact with the tile wall. Also, it has two levers...the big one for turning on the water, and smaller in the middle for adjusting temp. The temp control is so stiff that turning it turns the water on-off control. so you have to use both hands...one to hold the on off lever and the other adjust the temp lever. Totally ticked off by the horrible quality of this product. Delta products have gone down hill in the past few years. They are obviously focused on bottom line and quality does not figure high on their list of production priorities. Stay away from this product, and Delta in general.

Water pressure is terrible out of the box, but...

The flow from this head was initially pitiful. It improved a bit by not using both parts of the shower head together, but not by much. Fortunately, it's quite easy to remove the flow restrictor. (Look it up on YouTube.) Also note that the piece of pipe that connects the shower head to the wall is unusually long. In our tiny shower, it put the head too far into the middle of the stall. Your local home improvement shop will almost certainly have a shorter one you can swap it for. Even better: buy it before your plumber installs it so he can use it instead.

Our plumber says it was hard to install. It also has a dual arrangement for turning on the water and setting the temperature. A real pain when you are showering an invalid. Also the PLASTIC hose is twisted and we are hoping that it will straighten out after some hot water runs through it for awhile. After waiting so long to get it installed, it would have been nuts to send it back and wait even longer for another type of faucet.
