Steampunk oddity

I love the old plague masks of doctors. I think they look so crazy. The entire concept of that mask mixed with birds and steampunk is effectively delivered in this sculpture. It is a sturdy and durable resin that will last. The details and coloring add a level of artistry that makes you just keep staring at it! My only concern is that you hand it with only one small screw hole. So far its held up, but it makes me nervous. I love it. It is such a weird and odd sculpture. If Yukon someone who likes steam pun or just likes an odd touch, this is a great edition your exterior, year round.

Wow! So COOL!

This was perfect for my Halloween setup, and given the times, what better than a Plague Dr. as the centerpiece in my graveyard. Cue the spooky lighting and he's all set.

Unique!!

This is certainly one of our more unusual wall hangings! But it is a striking addition to our home office that receives plenty of compliments and comments when friends and family visit for the first time. It even catches our dog’s eye when he is in there which is funny to me each time I see him staring at it! It also fits perfectly between the closet doors like it was made to be hung there!

I should have bought two.

This looks great on the wall. It's well made and painted and has the appearance of real leather. But it's a bit lonely by itself. Being so unusual I think that a pair of them would look better.

Steampunk plague penguin

Even the manufacturers of this wall ornament (not a wearable mask) can’t decide exactly what it is. The Amazon product heading may say “plague mask” but the label on the item itself just says “steampunk bird head”. In truth it’s a mish-mash of both- giving you a sort of steampunk leather plague mask for penguins. As art goes, each to their own of course, but I’d so as far as saying that it’s one of those “you’ll love it or you’ll hate it” pieces that visitors will see, sticking quite far off your wall, and will either think is the coolest thing they’ve ever seen, or they’ll have nightmares about it- or maybe both. Build quality wise it’s pretty good. It’s nicely moulded. The faux leather is very convincing, the metalwork ageing perhaps a little bit less so. It’s nicely weighted left-to-right and moderately heavy but could still be sustained on a wall by one of our existing picture hooks, as the mounting point is nicely standard. If you saw the product photo and thought “WOW!” then yes, there’s nothing in the design or build quality that ought to stop you getting one of these on your wall.

When you first look at this wall hanging, you will either love it or hate it. It's modeled in the style of a 17th century plague doctor... but with a Steampunk aesthetic. It's very unique and certainly stands out. This item appears to be well made and is painted to a high quality. It looks great on my wall. I'd say it does represent good value for money. I was half hoping that the eye pieces would be see-through. I would have loved to put a coloured bulb inside this mask, with the light shining out of the eyes. You'll certainly get your guests talking when they see this in your house!

So awesome, love it!

This wall hanging is just so cool I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could. The resin is solid and heavy so it will stay looking great for years, it can be used inside or in the garden and it comes with a keyhole hanging slot making it really simple to attach to the wall. All the tiny details are beautifully made, you can see every stitch in the 'leather' and the metal rivets look so realistic, almost as though you could remove them. The workmanship of the painting is exceptional and the moulding is very fine. It really looks as though it's made from leather and metal, it is fantastic!

I'm sure this is good if you like steam punk, I ordered it as I was curious about what it was. Now I can see it in my hand, I can say that although it's not something I would buy for display in my house, it's well produced and would make a slightly creepy but decorative talking point on your wall if that was the sort of thing you liked. Hmmm, there you go!
