My very first product-review here on Amazon ... I think I may have chosen a good one for my initiation. Also ... it appears mine will the first review for this piece. I've carefully scanned many different sizes of watch cases, in many different styles, and in a wide variety of price levels. For some reason, I never found precisely what I was looking for ... ... until now. After finally realizing that my present watch collection of four current Blue-LED watches, one dress white-ceramic watch, plus four tungsten-carbide rings & a white ceramic ring (to match the watches) would probably remain as small as it is now. So I only needed a fairly small case. This one has six "nests" ... accompanied by their tight-fit 'pillows'. The available space is a perfect fit for my whole collection. But now the best part ... ... the spectacular quality of this case. A really fantastic surprise. I knew I did NOT want a see-thru top (acrylic ones scratch too easily ... glass ones seem too risky since the glass is picture-frame thin). So finding this version made things more pleasant. Quality in this price range ?... this case surpassed all my hopes. An added bonus ... the benefit of a fully padded/suede-lined underside in the lid. The exterior (and surrounding edges of the opening) are a very nice replication of carbon-fiber. Again, flawless ... every seam, each corner, all the padding. The entire piece exceeds what many more-expensive cases offer. The C-F look-alike cloth is stunning ... featuring a diagonal pattern that is precisely lined-up all the way around the case. Each seam seems to be carefully mated/glued/sealed. The plated hardware is nicely installed ... the two linear hinges are recessed into beveled edges, and operate smoothly. The interior is luxurious ... all black micro-suede (yes, as soft as real Ultra-Suede). ALL BLACK ... not some off-color which, in many cases, competes with the finish-colors of the time-pieces within. "Elegant" is a word which very-well describes this case's presentation. Even the way the "Diplomat" logo is discreetly embossed on the top speaks pure class (this is the correct logo-version ... the 'O' is a watch-face with two hands). A long yet narrow case, its interior space easily accommodates each of my oversize watches. All five of them 'nest' securely. The empty (sixth) space at one end is perfect for the rings I mentioned ... each one in its own fitted black micro-suede pouch (found at a local jewelry store in Palm Beach FL). The weight of the case is substantial ... denoting its sturdy construction. "Diplomat" offers other case-versions in this particular C-F finish, with an all- black interior ... various sizes and styles. Well worth looking into ... I highly recommend them ... if they're anywhere near as marvelous as this one is. 5 stars ? Well, it arrived 2 days early, with free shipping even. 5 stars for sure.

Nice quality watch box w 6 slots

Nice watch box to store your watches in. Leather is soft and feels good. The box is sturdy despite being opened\closed on daily basis. Because there is no clear window, there is more clearance for watches inside the box, accommodating larger (thicker) watches just file - like seiko monster or panerai. Pillow cushions are well made and fit average sized watch bracelet great. Although if you have very large wrists - pillows are better suited for leather bands then steel bracets (latter can be loose on the pillow if your wrist is > 7.5in) Clearance between cushions is also good - so you can have larger watches (42mm+) in there without them touching each others cases. Great, safe way to store your watches - very happy w purchase.

Nice case, clear top would be an improvement

Good quality, but a clear top like the 12 watch case would be an excellent improvement as it is nice to see the watches

Really nice for the price

This is a very nice simulated carbon fiber watch box. The exterior is all hard-surface except the top which is slightly padded. It has a nice, functional skeleton key type lock, but I don't use it. After all, a thief would just take the whole box anyways! The only drawback I can see is that it doesn't have a window-top, so if your watches recharge by light, this isn't the case for you. While I have one rechargeable, I prefer a non-window case, so this worked for me. I don't have any watches with huge bezels, but I do have some that are somewhat oversized, and they fit fine in this case.

I Bought a Second

I originally purchased this watch case for my son who likes to leave his relatively expensive watches laying around. I love the faux carbon fiber. I was so impressed, I purchased a second for myself. My largest watch has a bezel that is 60mm x 48mm (with a legarto strap)and the watch on either side is 48mm in diameter. None of my watches touch and my smallest is 42mm. It is durable enough for home storage, but I'll use my Invicta dive case for travel.

Nice looking case only a bit heavy

It's nice looking watch case by Diplomat. It has artificial carbon fiber texture, looks great! as well as has a great finish!. Locking mechanism quite simple but serves its purpose, to lock the box. A bit heavier than I though, i don't think it will work for traveling. I only use this case to keep my watches collections at home. I wish it less heavier so i can carry this watch case to travel around in my suitcase.

Fine and functional

Sleek and functional, it arrived on time and more-or-less as described. The case is a cushioned, carbon-fibre printed vinyl (not carbon-fibre) and the interior is a soft, plush velvet. The construction is fairly high quality and it fits most standard-sized watches with ease. The key is functional, if somewhat decorative; not exactly a strong security measure but certainly attractive. The case has some heft to it, giving it a premium feel, and the embossed 'Diplomat' on the top is a nice touch. For the price, this product is well worth it; would highly recommend to owners of multiple watches looking for a modest display-case for their collection.

Very nice case at this price point

Very nice case at this price point. Probably should have purchased the 12 watch version but this case size is great for my current collection and storage area. Can always get 2 if you need more and stack them up. I like the fact the cloth covered and filled inserts that you place the watch on have an outer ring that is removable which makes it easier to store your watch if you have a smaller wrist strap set up vs a large wrist strap set up. Nice finish on the case.

Sharp and versatile !

I use this case to display my favourite watches by leaving it open on the shelf in my room. The lock and key feature is amazing for security and also for travelling - just lock it and toss it in a suitcase! It comes with cushions to wrap the watches on and they fit nice and snug in theor places. The carbon fibre exterior is very slick and I couldn't be happier with this case. Looking into getting the 18-watch case as well.
