Good for RV water heater
Our Forest River 27RWLS RV anode needed relacing. Threads corroded badly. This cleaned them perfectly. Will get a few more years out of this heater. Model SW6del. Videos on youtube helped.

Handy Thread Tap
Had a hard to get at water supply valve to a Cabin that I was going to have to replace. A small leak developed on the connection. Found this thread compatible sized tap to clean the rust/chlorides that had built up on the connection. "Chased" the threads, added pipe compound and reattached fitting. Saved me a lot of work in digging up the supply line. A priceless short cut well worth it!

Good quality - good price
Did the job in cleaning rusted threads in a cast iron stack. Using it even just once saved me a lot of money.

Changing a pipe from NPT (tapered) to NPS
I fixed my pool pump connection by buying a tapered pipe coupling and changing it to straight.

Worked great
Had to re-tap hole for anode rod in my RV water heater. Only took one pass. Requires oddball 13/16" socket.

This is not a Toy
The tap came packaged in a telescoping plastic tube similar to most other machine tool purchases. It was ordered to chase the threads on a welded-in female coupling in a steel tank that experienced a jam when attempting to attach a street elbow. This tap served its purpose very well. Of course, everything was cleaned as well as possible beforehand, and copious amounts of sulfurated RIDGID brand cutting oil was applied all during the chase. I was careful to only go a smidgeon after the cutting edges reached the "wall," and backed off around 180 degrees to clean the work. I removed the tap and cleaned it in a pan of solvent three or four times, making sure to brush out all the steel debris. I read reviews of this tool on Amazon and see how people mangled their tools by mostly being impatient. Running against the "wall" for 90 degrees is asking for trouble. With something this expensive you want to treat it like it was made out of gold.

Attention RVers
Used this 3/4" NPT Tap to clean the threads for the Anode Rod on my Suburban Water Heater in my Motorhome. Used a little vegetable oil on the Tap for lubricant since regular petroleum based oils could possibly contaminate the water lines in the motorhome. The Anode Rod fits much better now and doesn't feel like I'm cross threading while installing. Good tool to have for future maintenance.

Pool heater problem.
My drain plugs wouldn't screw back into my pool heater,I noticed the threads in the heater were rusted and damaged,l tried everything but still could not get plugs to enter the heater screw drain holes.I determined I needed a 1/4 -18npt tap and went straight To Amazon and found a carbon steel 1/4-18 not high quality tap which was delivered next morning.I gently retapped the drain holes and entered plugs with no problem.I opened up the pool and thanks to Amazon the family were back swimming.Amazon has never let me down love you guys.

Good
I used this to re-thread an old copper waste pipe that had got messed up. It cleaned out the threads nicely, all shiny copper, and after that no problem with the new fitting.

Stay away. Will do more damage than good
The media could not be loaded. Never seen a new tap in such bad condition. Don't buy it.
