Allows me to avoid Overloading my Motors
This device allows me to monitor the current and adjust the feed rate to maximize throughput without overloading the motor of my 5HP Surface Planner. I also have one installed on my 17" Band Saw for the same purpose.

Didn't work
This was the second one I bought in a few years. The first one continues to work well, needed this for another project. I was surprised as to how poorly it was wrapped, looked to me like an item that was returned and reshipped in the same packaging it was returned in. This item did not work, would not display anything. If wired wrong they will be destroyed, my guess is that the person who returned it blew it and the vendor did not test the return. I really need one for my project so I ordered 2 more hoping at least one works.

50A version displays twice the actual current unless reconfigured, but has a more convenient shunt
This is for the 50A version with an external shunt on a plastic base, with separate holes to mount the base, connect the power leads, and connect the sensing leads. (The 100A version has no insulating base on the shunt, so you have to provide your own mounting base.) It's a fine meter but it reads twice the actual current and so shows twice the actual power used. The meter is the same for 50A and 100A, only the shunt is different. Both shunts are designed to produce a 75mV sense voltage at rated load, so the meter just translates the voltage across the shunt rather than internally measuring current. If the two shunts are different and the meter is the same... well, 3 stars. UPDATE: After the comment below, I found how to change the scale. Grudgingly giving all 5 stars because the paperwork does say it's possible... but nothing on the product page says it's not shipped with settings compatible with the ad and the shunt, and because almost everywhere in the "manual" says it's 100A (only).

It works great! Because of the above
There seems to be a plethora of these multimeters from various manufacturers out there. I purchased my first of the kind to monitor my solar battery bank (I'm totally off grid). I connected the meter in such a way that it shows zero amps and power when the solar array is charging my batteries, and conversely, when the bank is under load, it fully reads out all of the figures (volts, amps, power and energy. It works great! Because of the above, I have ordered another meter so I can monitor BOTH the solar array and the battery bank. I have the meters shunt on my solar control panel, and I have the meter at the end of 30 foot 4-conductor cable in my living area. Next project is to rewire the solar control panel and mount both meters (and a 0-100% LED battery voltage meter in a larger box, again in my living area. I HIGHLY recommend these meters if you have a need to monitor a system's volts, current draw in amps, power and energy use.

... Ham Radio and 3D Printing applications and they are GREAT! Especially the power used over time function
So far I have ordered two of these units to build power boxes for Ham Radio and 3D Printing applications and they are GREAT! Especially the power used over time function. I helped identify the power needs of equipment for various deployments. I have people asking me to build boxes with some of these in them just because of the awesome data you get when you have to operate on battery power for extended periods of time. One thing I didn't realize out of the gate (Because I didn't read the instructions thoroughly) was that they come pre-configured for the 100A shunt and you have to set that value, otherwise your measurements will be heavily skewed. Its easy to change and is just something to be aware of to set/check before going into the field and wondering why your equipment is almost using double the amperage you expected. :)

not good with electronic noise
it works fine under most situations. when you have something with a stable load like a battery charger. if you want to use it to monitor things like current draw and voltage of a brushless motor the noise on the voltage source will cause the multimeter to reset and be stuck on the turning on screen where all the lcd is on. but to solve this I plan on using some capacitors to smooth out the noise to the multimeter

Be gentle while trying to mount it.
Comes programmed as a 100A meter. You need to follow the manual to change the settings if you buy the 50A version. Also the plastic clips are fragile and I broke mine while test fitting it into a metal holder.

I am pleased with this mittle meter.
This product works as advertised. I plan on using this meter in an emergency power pack for Ham radios and associated equipment. What I like about it is that it can be used as either a 100 max-Amp or a 50 max-Amp meter. Since I will be using it for about 30 Amp circuits (total), I chose to program it for the 50 max-Amp mode. Of course that required a 50 Amp shunt to go with it, but that was not a problem. Pay close attention to the instruction sheet as the programming, although not difficult, it is not obvious.

Use terminal crimp connectors.
Works great for load reading in and load reading out.
