I was disappointed because they are not true white

These blackout curtains definitely do their job. Thanks to them, my daughter now takes naps during the day! It really darkened her room up. At first, I was disappointed because they are not true white, but then, they do such a great job that it doesn't even matter! The design is cute and the quality is good. They cover an average sized window perfectly. I would definitely recommend to those with small children who are sensitive to light at naps and night. I also noticed they drown out a lot of outside noise. My daughter no longer wake when the neighbor's dog barks or cars drive by, and I find that incredibly useful. She only has one window in her room and it is amazing that one window can let that much noise in. We use these curtains in combination with blinds. If you are looking for durable, frilly curtains that do a great blackout job, look no further. If you are looking for frilly, girly curtains in true white that really have no purpose other than to collect dust and look pretty, move along. Even though these aren't true white, they still look good in the room, which is painted pink. I think that if I was going to buy some new curtains, I would buy these in a different color. I am sure part of the reason the white is not really white is because of the thick fabric they have to use to keep the light out. That stuff is no joke. It is the same as wearing a white thin tee shirt over a black tank top-you can always see the tank top.

Super cute, room darkening, not blackout

Based on other reviews I expected these to keep the room very dark. They definitely block light but are not blackout by any means. I have them in my daughters nursery so hopefully they will keep enough light out for her to sleep well.

Nice look, Good quality, less light blocking

These curtains look great in my kid’s room. They are definitely more white or light grey than it looks in the photos, but matched fine in our grey and teal themed room. (We also have them against a grey wall). They are well made and don’t wrinkle, but really don’t block out as much light as other Eclipse blackout panels, and I ended up lining them with additional blackout material to get the darkness I wanted. I also wished they came as a set.

Not blackout but beautiful

I love these curtains. I wasn't especially concerned about having blackout curtains because our backyard is plenty dark as it is, so I wasn't too worried to read that others were dissatisfied with the description. Indeed - they are not blackout at all but more like room darkening. They work just fine for us. They also are not white. The sheer is white, but the lining is grey, and the grey lining shows through so the sheer takes on a light grey, almost silvery look. Still, I didn't expect white because of the reviews so I wasn't disappointed in the grey. They are fabulous curtains in every other way. They are substantial. Note that I did have to return one panel because all the ruffles were stitched crookedly, going downhill. So check your curtains. :)

Not blackout as stated

I was ok with the color being more light gray but I thought they would block out more light than it states. Definitely not blackout curtains.

Definitely light gray, not true white

I purchased these for my daughters nursery after wanting ruffle curtains from a large scale children's store that was $100 a panel or more. These are beautiful in her room, however like other reviews below they are light gray vs true stark white. Other reviews say it's because of the blackout backing, however even without that these would still appear light gray. Either way, I love them and they look great on a darker gray wall.

Looks More Gray Than White

I want to like these I really do, but they have a dark lining on the back and so the curtains appear more gray than white in color. It bothers me every time I look at them, but they are already hanging and I don't want to deal with trying to find a replacement. They are a good quality and they do a good job of keeping the sun out and for the price I am willing to deal with it.
