Eddie Bauer Men's Clyde Hill Waterproof Hiking Boots
This was a gift. The recipient loved the shoes and said they are warm and comfortable.

Very Comfortable
I needed an inexpensive shoe for work and something with ankle protection for commuting on my motorcycle. I work with epoxies and gelcoats, so anything I buy gets trashed in a fairly short period time, which explains the need for something inexpensive. So far, these hiking boots have checked all the boxes. They are very comfortable with break-in taking only one day. The only minor gripe is that the laces won't stay tied at first. Just hand wash the laces where you tie the knots(no need to take them off of the shoes) to remove the manufacturing chemicals.

Fits well, comfortable, protective, grips well, great for hiking
These shoes were definitely great for all the National Park hikes I did. These shoes fit perfectly for me and they are pretty comfortable after your wear them for a few hours. They are definitely a solid pair of shoes and durable which means they take a bit of time to get used to. If you were thick socks these shoes hug your feet pretty tightly so be aware of that. They have really good grip on the bottom so you can easily grip when doing long hikes. You do not have to worry about slipping or anything. One thing I will say is that the color is very basic color. It is not too flashy or anything like that. The shoes themselves feel pretty nice. The outer layer is in good shape and well built so it will protect your feet from most of terrain (minus snow). You can easily move around in these shoes. I walked through dirt path, rocks, some sand and through a small river although it is not water proof so be aware of that (had no choice). The bottom insoles are cushioned so it will not feel uncomfortable and provide a good cushion through really long hikes. I could use these to run or walk around and my feel feet great although I will say it does get a bit heavy with water. It does not breath too well so air out the shoes after so you will not get bad odors. The bottom soles do not wear out too quickly which is great. The laces are very durable as well so you do not have to worry about them fraying or falling apart. The design looks great and stylish. Overall these shoes are great for hikes. They lasted me a long time through all the national parks in Nevada and still did not have any issues with it wearing down very quickly. Only thing is that they do have an odor if you happen to sweat a lot so air and clean after use. They are also not the lightest shoes so be aware of that. They are meant to be protective so the material is thicker.

These are a good value-priced boot for hiking, hunting, and general use.
I ordered these because I wore my old pair of hiking boots out. I didn't want to shell out a bunch of money for some and I came across the opportunity try these. Upon receiving them, I looked them over and for any types of defects in the over-molding or sole. They were nearly perfect. I laced them up and walked around. Even though they were new, they provided ample flexibility in the sole while giving good ankle support. The sole has a more rubbery black grip on the outer parts of the sole and a lighter, slightly more firm, grip in the middle of the sole. The materials are not 'superb', but they are pretty good and the stitching excellent. After trying these through the rainy season and part of the cold here, I'm very impressed so far and would have no problem at all paying ~$50-60 for a pair of these. They should last quite a while.

Excellent fit and comfort
These Eddie Bauer Clyde Hill hiking boots fit me better than I’d expected. Previous hiking boots I’ve tried from Eddie Bauer in years past have had narrower soles than I would fit comfortably so I’ve always had to look elsewhere. But, after reading some of the reviews these seemed like they’d be worth taking the risk of ordering. I’m pleased to report that not only are they well constructed and visually attractive, they’re an ideal width (neither too narrow or too wide). I was able to easily swap in my corrective orthotics for the insoles and it was like they were made just for me. I can walk all day in these, on a variety of terrains, without any stress or discomfort. So far they’re holding up like champs. They’ve got excellent breathability and the outsides wipe down easily if you’ve been walking through dust or dirt. If you’re often vexed by footwear fitting too narrow, these might just be worth your time. I’m extremely pleased!

Threw away after 2 months -fell apart
These came May 20th and I just threw them away July 17th. They fell apart at the toe. My husband tried to super glue them, silicone glue them, but nothing worked and they kept getting worse. Very comfortable, but for two months, not worth it.

Comfortable Well-fitting Hiking Boots
I live in a wilderness area and do a lot of hiking in the rugged mountains. I wear out a pair of hiking boots each year. I’ve had the opportunity to test these Eddie Bauer boots in the real world and they’re my favorite pair of the last few. They’re well put together and you can adjust the lacing so you get it tight where you want it. The boots feel great on my feet, well supported. The tongue is padded and long enough that your tied bows don’t slip up over the top. The ankle padding is good. I like the extra protection on the toe. The tread is what I need – aggressive enough to give me a good grip on the sometimes slippery slopes. I was one of the first to order these, so there was no feedback on accuracy of size. I’d ordered a pair of Chinese made boots recently that were supposed to be a 12, but fit like an 11, so I couldn’t wear them. I figured that these were probably also made in China, but this is the Eddie Bauer company, so they should know American sizes. Still, while I normally wear a 12, I ordered 13 and I’m glad I did. When I first put them on, they felt about right, but maybe a half-size too big. The insoles felt soft, but didn’t give me enough arch support which is normal for me, so I ordered a more robust insole B09S6LM7FG. I pulled out the old insoles (reach inside, grab the toe portions, and gently but firmly, peel back). I used them to determine correct length of the new insoles and trimmed a little off the toes. The new insoles have a heel cup that pushes my foot just a little further forward, so now the 13s fit perfectly. These are quality boots that are comfortable on, support my feet and ankles, lace up well, and are my new go-to’s for mountain hiking. Bonus – they look great!
