Wonderful a rugged light

Love this light. We use it around the house, when camping and when we are at the beach. The different light modes, the ability to adjust the light angle, the red light, the ability to hang the light make it great. The light doesn’t consume batteries at a crazy rate and it stands up to the outdoors and regular use. We keep 2 on standby with batteries in case of an power outage.

Great camping and emergency lantern

During the last 12 years I have owned 4 versions of this lantern, 3 of the red version and now the black, which is slightly cheaper in price and materials. The weakness of the lantern is the handle. Every handle has broken at the point where the handle connects to the body. Other than that, the lanterns have been perfect for my needs. They have gotten me through 2 hurricanes and numerous long term minimalist camping trips. The broken handles have limited hanging the lantern, but since it folds in half it is still doable. Obviously, I like the lantern since I continue to replace or add to my supply with the same lanterns. Along the way I’ve used other types of battery operated lanterns but this is the best for my needs. Two thumbs up.

Great emergency light

Terrific light. Super bright. Shipped with two other items torn out of their packaging because Amazon carelessly doesn’t use filler material in their boxes. Sorry, had to get that in, they don’t respond to criticism.

This is really good

The option of choosing whether the light is aimed in one direction or in full circle is what sold me. It's easy to operate and battery usage seems good. It's not for backpacking as with the four D-cell batteries it's a bit heavy. Good price too. Bought one for each of my family members.

Good camping/power out light with D enloop rechargeable battery adapters

It's decent value when on sale. Not worth it to use real alkaline type D batteries but used with AA enloop type rechargeable batteries with the D adapters its a good value. Kinda useless to use as a power bank but I guess it's a useful feature in a power outage like a hurricane so I doesn't hurt to have that option. Bright enough and if you really hate the rechargeable batteries with D adapters option they make the built-in rechargeable battery version for double the price. I get that the other version is easier to use overall but I like the ability to just pop in rechargeable batteries with the D adapters when I need. Takes about 1 minute to remove and pop in new rechargeable batteries. So for half the price and I got plenty of AA/D adapters it's the best value for me.

Great during a power outage!

Lights up a entire room. Much better than using flashlights during a power outage. Does NOT come with batteries so have four "D" batteries on hand. Also has a port to plug in your iphone.

Nice light for when the power goes out.

Much brighter than the old red version. The ony thing that i did like better on the old one was that the battery cover was also a mirror. This is a great emergency light and i like the night light. sometimes when the power goes out I want just a little light but not so much that you cant goto sleep.
