Great mathematics manipulative
I love the quantity and price of these counters! My students love using them to count, sort, and play with! They are cute and sturdy. This product is a great tool for the home and classroom!

3 year old is now counting to 100!
I just gave my 3-year-old this tub of animal counters along with the Learning Resources set of 6 sorting bowlsSorting Bowls (Set of 6) . There were several counters to choose from on Amazon, but I went with this one because it has different animals (rather than a tub of bears only) and it has 20 of each color to total 100 (some of the other sets have odd totals like 107). The Learning Resources sorting bowls have an extra color, orange, so I've put that with my son's art set to pour paint in. The other five colored bowls match up with the colors of the Eureka animals. I was unsure how interested my boys would be with this toy, but my 3-year-old and 17-month-old have been playing with this non-stop since they got it yesterday. It was given to them as an Easter present, and it is by far their favorite toy out of everything they received in their baskets. The 17-month-old loves the clanking sound of taking them in and out of the bucket and bowls, and as he observed my older son and I sorting them by color this morning, he picked up a red cat and exclaimed, "red!" As for the 3-year-old, I had gotten him the Carson-Dellosa Hundreds Pocket Chart from AmazonCarson-Dellosa Publishing CD-5604 Hundreds Pocket Chart with 100 Number Cards a while back, which up to now he's only shown a vague interest in. Well, we sorted the 5 colors into their corresponding bowls and then put each animal by color group on the chart, counting as we went, all the way up to 100. Again, we just got this yesterday, and with just a little help he is already counting to 100! I cannot stress enough how well the animal counters, bowls, and 100s chart go hand-in-hand to give your child a visual understanding of numbers. He already recognized numbers 0-9, and now that he can place objects on the 100s chart and count as he goes, he's understanding how to read the other numbers as well! The only caution is to obviously supervise your kids and put this away somewhere safe when they're done...otherwise, pieces will end up all over the house or alltogether lost. Otherwise, one of the most well-received and fun educational investments we've made.

Great educational product that is fun for your kids!
We use these for a lot of different things at our house. Its a great learning toy. I have no complaints about it. The price was a little high but when I compared it to other brands its about the same sometimes better. It comes with 100 counters, most only come with 50. I got the animal tub which has five different animals and five different colors. we use it for - sorting by color - sorting by animal - counting - making letters with them - making shapes with them - making numbers with them - each of my kids would grab a handful then we would see how many they each were able to pickup with one hand, so to see which is bigger - we made a box and had pictures on them to sort them as fast as they can - also we would take the primary colored ones and say what color they make when put together They are made of plastic and seem like they will last a long time. I love the detail the animals have on them. Great homeschooling item to have for your preschooler and for kindergartner. I would suggest this product to others that have young kids. comes in a great tub that has a handle on it that you are able to carry it by.

Came open and beat up, but they work.
The cap screwed off during shipping and the counters came all thrown about in the bag. After counting them to make sure we had all 100, we confirmed we did. We found that the cap is not very good and is cheaply molded. If you tighten it, it comes off. The bucket came beat up as well. Thanks UPS. The counters had areas of dark spots like grime stuck in the sharp areas of their molding points. So I have to thoroughly clean them. That being said. They are counters, not anything special. I have all 100 and they work. Cute animals too. The real complaint here is the shipping that beat up the package until the cap came off and the rough edges on the counters that collect grime.

Great learning tool!
Great product to use for toddler to learn colors, counting, and simple math problems. I use these with my 2 year old and 4 year old and both enjoy them.

1-2...it's a zoo. 3-4...the kids want more. 5-6...it's quite a mix. 7-8...they're really great. 9-10...I'd buy it again!
As an early childhood educator for the past 20 years and childcare provider, I strive to find toys and activities that will have the greatest impact on our children's development, ones that will be fun, educational, and worth their cost. This tub of animal counters is awesome...an incredible deal for the amount of animals included. The sturdy storage container is a bonus. The kids love sorting/classifying by color, size, animal, foods they eat (carnivore/herbivore/omnivore), where they live, etc. Who knew they could get all of that from a simple tub of animals?! I give them 6 and 12-muffin pans to use for sorting in our math center and they love them. They are durable and the kids like the variety. I have a small pair of tongs that they can use, too (builds their fine muscles even more than this set already does). I've purchased 6 other sets from more expensive educational stores, but I prefer these because they're not flexible and there are a lot more items included in this set for less than half the cost! If you are a childcare provider, teacher (I'd say K & 1st would be best), or parent of 2-8-year olds (who wouldn't put them in their mouths), this is a wonderful set to hone their counting, sorting, visual discrimination, and fine motor skills.

Perfect counters!
These are cute and brightly colored. They're perfect for counting, making patterns, and other math concepts. The container is very sturdy too! I'd definitely purchase this again.

a little small, but good for the PreK-K crowd
My girls are 6 and 4, so these bears are helpful for so many things. My preK gal can use them to work on patterns, colors, and counting. My first grader is using them to work on addition and subtraction, as well as patterns. The bears are a little smaller than I had anticipated, but my girls are beyond the "put everything in their mouth" stage so it's not a big deal.
