Excellent chair according to Mom
My mother needed a chair after her femur was spliced and refitted with titanium due to a cancerous mass. She lost the control of her knee as the doctors had to cut the hamstring muscles as well. Mom walks with a walker and a fitted brace, but during the night, she likes to get out of bed and wheel herself to the bathroom. This chair's moblity is amazing, and unlke the fancier wheelchair that was on loan to her at a cost of ninety dollars a month which left skid marks all across her beige carpeting, this chair did not mark up her carpeting more than it was. Incidently, my thirty-something nephew ended up breaking his foot in Thailand and visited Grandma by way of his return. He absolutely wanted the chair as getting around on crutches was an ordeal for him. He could not believe the cost of the chair and its quality. He tends to buy high-end everything! Grandma did not give in and told him he could get his own! We highly recommend this wheelchair to anyone seeking a good, compact, easy rolling chair. Mom says the chair also supports her back very well. I had ordered a cushion thinking the seat might get a little hard for her skinny little derriere, but she likes the padding and says the chair is so very comfortable as it is. I hope this helps any of you considering this type of purchase.

Traveler L4-Adj. arms and quick release wheels wheelchair
I like Everest & Jennings wheelchair. But, it has been about 14 years since my last one - this new one has several design flaws that do not enhance its function or comfort. The arms are too short in length, and have sharp edges even though they look smooth and are round. My aide notes it is heavier than my present one which is not good. Thus only 4 stars for this model. However, she is happy that the handle bars are adjustable so they are easier for her to use as she is tall. Altogether a good deal as I had to purchase this myself. Would also urge potential buyers to use caution - read the full description carefully. I just ordered another E&J and was majorly disappointed to find the "adjustable" arms had to be lifted off fully - they did not flip back. I could not use them when alone. So I donated it to a living assisted facility where there are always caregivers present to remove and reattach them - such a silly, useless design.

Nice temporary wheelchair
Works great, but the screws on the brakes loosen up and are funky to get tightened correctly again. Overall, well suited for a temporary wheelchair. I am please with its adjustment abilities.

Brake Mechanism Faulty
Purchased this chair for my mother who was moving home from a nursing facility. Needed the smallest possible chair to navigate doorways. After about 4 months of use the nut/bolt system that holds the brake handles began to come lose. Very hard to tighten or attempt to fix. Used new nut this past week and already it is coming apart. This is a real defect and I'm at my wits end trying to resolve.

Function
Lightweight but sturdy build, easy to put on "wings," and functional: the adjustable wheelies act as shock absorbers when going down the outer walkway stairs and hilly terrain. The back pocket is handy for the seatbelt accessory, papers, or other items, although it doesn't expand very far; and if overstuffed, it might cause discomfort for the one using the wheelchair. It folds easily and is easy to clean. Also, it's a good looking vehicle and not too expensive.

Nice Sturdy Wheelchair
I really liked this wheelchair to keep in the car for outings and such. My problem was that I ordered the wrong size, and when I tried to return it for an exchange, was told it would cost way too much to send it back on my dime ($50+) and after doing all of that the company then charges a 15% restocking fee which comes out of your refund, I was told by their seller that it was cheaper to just sell the chair instead of sending it back. I ended up selling it to a friend for $20 less than what I paid for it, so lesson learned..I hope!

Good quality for the price
I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and am an amputee. The wheelchair is my way to get around my home, property, or stores. I have had this moel before and was comfortable with it. So I ordered the same one. It gets me where I need to go. Easy enough to manuever. Folds flat for transport and it is around 32 lbs. Not too heavy for someone to lift and put in the car.
