Good choice for RO system, but…
I’ve owned reverse osmosis systems in the past and this is the best. I would recommend you purchase a special hose cutter that cuts the tubing evenly so there are fewer leaks. One thing I would leave out the leak stop valve. I tried everything to keep this thing from leaking including checking to make sure the hoses are pressed in all the way, recutting each end of the connecting hoses and of course adding the locking rings. I’ve seen other comments having this same problem. I decided to get a drain pan and a water sensor which you can get for under $10. It will set off an alarm if it detects any leaks.

Just look at my picture
It clearly works. This was after 4 months of use. Flabbergasted at how gross my town water is.

Stacks up to much more expensive filters
For years I had a counter top Pristine Hydro filter, for which I paid around $1300 or so. When we moved into our own house, my wife and I wanted an under-the-counter filter for convenience (and obviously to save counter space). Pristine Hydro does sell one, for around $2000 - which I believe used your existing faucet (which is a big feature for many people). Now, don't get me wrong, they make an excellent top-notch filter. But for $1800+, I was wondering if I could justify it. At the end of the day, is the machine taking 99.9% of the contaminants out, removing the harmful acids, and re-mineralizing the water? That's what I care about. Pristine Hydro does that very well. (In all honestly, I don't know what % of the contaminants this filter is removing but it sure has a lot of filters!) Years ago I did a test of 50 different bottled waters. It taught me a great deal about what it takes to get an alkaline pH and the effect of TDS on pH. Las Vegas water is already very alkaline, at about 8.5, with a TDS of about 240 in our house. That's generally much higher TDS than any water filter should shoot out. But keep in mind there are PLENTY of alkaline spring waters on the market (Evian for example) that are over 200 or even 300 TDS. Having said that, I believe the sweet spot is 20-80 for me personally, after having been filtered. Because ideally you want it to be filtered to 0 TDS and then remineralized slightly. If I had to choose my pH, it would be 7.5-9.5. However, you can shoot the pH up really high with a VERY small amount of minerals. And once you get to 10.5, adding more minerals is typically not going to make it go any higher. So the pH almost says more about how much acid is in the water than the amount of minerals. So if you have a high pH and a low TDS, it means the acid is low. The end result for this filter from our Vegas water is about 10.5 pH and 38 TDS. I'm happy with those results because it means the acid is low. I wanted an alkaline drinking water - perhaps not 10.5 high - but it doesn't bother me. I don't think it's much different than if it were 8.5 or so. What I LOVE is the massive reduction in TDS from 240 to 38. The filter is doing its job. For the difference in price, I think this one is a better value. p.s. I did the install myself. Took about 2 hours and wasn't too hard since I already had a hole in my stainless steel sink. Now, keep in mind I removed my air gap from the hole and a plumber is telling me it's going to be another $150 to drill a hole and bring my sink back up to code. Oh well, there are usually extra costs. Regardless, even with the hole needing to be drilled, it's still a bargain. I think replacing the filters every year is a going to be a nice PITA, but that's what we pay for having convenience and healthy drinking water at our fingertips the rest of the year! Nice work, guys.

Good Starter system , you probably be okay without the mods but OCD kicked in
Overall it is a sound starter system. Measuring the TDS directly from the output of RO was 4 to 5 TDS before the post filter. The TDS was 36 after post filters added minerals tap water. Easy-to-install directions were clear. I spent another 150 dollars on top of the initial cost to add a permeate pump to increase PSI to 82 from 60, and a 90% ASOV (automatic shutoff valve) and Deionization (DI) filter was added after RO before conditioning the water for drinking, I also added an HM dual TDS monitor to the input water side and output from the DI filter to confirm that the TDS was 0 prior to conditioning, which is now 24 TDS. It was nearly 32 TDS post-filters without DI

Not helping your water.
So it's a nice setup, easy instructions etc. My problem is with the mineralization cartridge. Even after the mineralization cartridge the water still comes out at 0 ppm. I tested it with a blue labs ppm pen. Flushed it the recommended amount of times. Tells me its not doing anything. To water is not safe to drink on its own. 0 ppm water robs the body of minerals. Hence why I bought this system. If it was doing anything, the ppm would be higher.

Works amazing
I am so happy about getting this. I read the reviews and when I received it, I pulled all the connections and made sure the tubing was cut straight, then reinstalled them. I have to say it has been a few weeks now and there have been no leaks at all. This was purchased because our well water was almost 900 TDS/ppm with an EC of 1.6 to 1.8. It tasted so bad, and we always purchased bottled water. This got my water down to 23 ppm and the EC bounces from 0.0 to 0.1. The water tastes great. I want to get one of these for my daughter. Her well water is similar to mine. The only thing that could be a problem for some people is the tap. It has a very very slow drip. There is no way to correct it either. The drip forms and drops about once every 10 minutes. This does not bother me, but maybe someone else.

Easy to install if you take your time
I am in love with this system, my water has never tasted better. After years of replacing the filter in my jug I just got sick of it - and was never happy with it anyway because it doesn't remove ALL of the contaminants and doesn't alkalinize the water. I am SO GLAD I found this unit. It really is simple to install but you must take your time or you'll make mistakes that will add hours to the installation. I installed over three days and then after 2 days of prepping the system, the delicious water was a sweet reward. My only complaint is that they make drilling through stainless steel look much easier than it actually was. I'm just glad I did it over a workday in between calls. It took a LONG time to get through. Even with a cobalt drill bit.
