This chair greatly improved in comfort after a few weeks of use ... It sits much better
The chair looks good when you view it on line . I thought that since it was microfiber it would be comfortable . I have used for going on 6 days ... I replaced a leather chair that I purchased from office depot in May of 2012. It sat great but the material was worn out after 4.5 years of use . They have this same identical Microfiber chair for 179.99 . I wish I would have set in one like it before I ordered it !!!! It sits terrible and will give you a lower backache after a short time . I also had 2 of the arm rest screws to strip out during assembly . I called customer service and they have the replacement screws on the way ... good service from them . From now on I will set in the next chair before I buy it ... Which may be in the near future ... Update... 9/9/17 .. After using it for a little longer period it seems to sit much better ... I also failed to adjust the seat adjustment after I assembled it ... That made a world of a difference !!! I will adjust the rating from a 2 star to a 4 star ... It is acceptable now .. Before I was unsure ? update 6/5/2018 .. Chair is holding up well . I use it about 5-6 hours a day . It is more comfortable now than when I first purchased it . For a fabric chair it is about as good as you can get . They put more into a more expensive leather chair . Leather chairs make my back sweat . I hate that feeling !! I would buy this chair again when this one wears out . I would rate it a 4.5 star .

Comfortable, Durable Chair
I purchased this chair after having the same one for 20 years. I was happy with the comfort--it provides ample support and the fabric is very comfortable. However, after 2 months the lift mechanism failed (hence the 4 stars). Yet, the company replaced it very quickly and had excellent service. I received the new piece and found how to replace it (it was not easy) and have had no further problems 3 years into use.

Not overly comfortable at first but better over time.
I can't quite put my finger on it but it's just not that comfortable a chair. The cushions are nice, but stiff. I'm hoping they will settle a little over time. the chair was pretty easy to assemble. No extra tools required. It took about 30 minutes simply using the allen key provided. I think it might be the back of the chair is not angled back enough, forcing you to sit more upright with better posture. We'll see how it holds up over time. I replaced a leather chair that was flaking off after about 3-4 years. I'll add more comments after living with it for awhile.4/10 Update - Chair has softened some and is a bit better than originally thought. Angle still a bit of an issue but I've grown accustomed to it. Upgraded to 4 stars. 10/14/22 Update- The piston has started to not work like others have pointed out. I have to raise a few times a day as it slowly leaks. I'm 5'10" and 195 lb. Arm rests also come loose a few weeks after retightening, also mentioned by others. Durability is just OK.

Comfy!
Big enough for my fat butt, and it’s so comfortable! Like sitting on a cloud. I just have one big disappointment and that’s the purple is not purple. It’s burgundy. I was very disappointed by the color.

Great Chair For Slouchers and Hunchers!
I'm a sloucher or a huncher. I don't sit with my back straight. I know, bad habit. However, the way this chair is designed perfectly fits my lower back and provides all over support for it. No back pain from sitting long periods of time. This will be my 2nd purchase. My first chair lasted about 2 years but the gas lift finally gave out and it now permanently sinks. I can't have that with my desk. This could be a poor gas lift or my 250lb bulk sitting in it for 5+ hours per day. That's why it gets 4 stars instead of 5. Assembly is easy and fast. I'm surprised at all the poor reviews. Had it not been for the gas lift, I'd still be using this chair as it's comfy and excellent for your back. I agree with other reviews, there is no head rest. If you like to lean back AND look at your screen, well, that won't happen -- you'll need a pillow. I hate leather, I always get the fabric type.

... this chair for about 2 weeks now and I like it so far
I've had this chair for about 2 weeks now and I like it so far. It supports my weight just fine (5'8" 225 lbs) and it is pretty comfortable. I give it 4 stars though because I had to replace the piston for this chair as the one supplied does not raise up very high. I just took the piston from the chair I was replacing and swapped it with the piston from this chair and voila, got about 2 - 3 extra inches in height. It is definitely not as "plushy" as it looks, but I feel the padding is more than adequate. I do not feel any of the solid pieces of the chair through the padding (so far, as I said I've only had it for 2 weeks) Honestly the only complaint I have about this chair is the original piston being just a bit too short. If you have a shorter desk or like your chair lower this would probably be fine, but my desk is about 30" tall.

Defective item was Replaced quickly by Bizchair
The chair I received contained a defective screw-hole underneath the seat where the back-piece attaches. Funny but it was the last screw to attach. At first it would not screw in and got stuck so instead of forcing it I gently unscrewed it back out. I then tried to screw it back in while holding it in place because it seemed to want to go in at a slight angle at first. As I held it in place it began to screw in all the way to the bottom but then it kept turning in place. Finally I called Bizchair and explained the problem. They informed me that a replacement chair was on the way. I will update this review when I get the replacement. UPDATE: Bizchair customer service was cordial and friendly. They sent me a replacement seat (just what I needed) within 2 days! The chair is built and in use. It does have good back support and the seat is angled slightly so that it really does feel more comfortable. The fabric is smooth like velour. Nice looking chair, too. I hope the upholstering holds up. Thanks Bizchair.

it's aesthetically a nice chair but nothing to write home about
I bought this chair 1 year ago (as of two weeks ago) and i'll be honest, it's aesthetically a nice chair but nothing to write home about. After one year, the chair has maintained its structural integrity very well. Nothing is loose, the wheels function great still and there's no rips in any of the seams anywhere. In terms of build quality by Flash Furniture, this would be an easy 5/5 stars. But as for the real review in terms of comfort after a year, I'd have to give the chair a very generous 2/5 stars. I'm not a big guy, 5"11 and 175~ lbs but after only one year, the memory foam in the chair has compressed so much that the seat is almost hardened at this point, causing me to replace it. The chair boasts being overstuffed but quite frankly, I must be sitting 3" shorter than i was a year ago after the compression of the memory foam in the seat. I've never liked the arm rests since day one, they're pretty high up the list for biggest complaint, allow me to explain. The arm rests themselves are overstuffed as well, these things are 'huge' and obstructive because of their rounded design that will bud into your desk if you don't drop your seats height dramatically, i'd have a hard time recommending this for anyone shorter than 6'2"-6'3". On top of that, you have *no way whatsoever* to adjust the height of them, meaning your 'only' option is to adjust the height of your chair and seating position to accommodate the position of your arms which goes back to my issue of seat compression (your arms will be positioned higher over time as your seat compresses lower), which can also lead to shoulder implications from unnatural angles (*dependent on the height of your desk in relation to the chair). The fact the arm rests are enormous and immobile make them the worst aspect of the whole chair, had I known ahead of time i likely would have went with another model from Flash Furniture's selection. Pros: * Chair is still stable after approximately 1,800 hours of use, minor squeaks (but nothing a little WD40 won't fix) * The fabric and material is still in excellent condition, no frays or tears. Cons: * Memory foam in the seat permanently compresses after extensive use, lowering your seating position over time. Can't recommend for long-term sitters/gamers. * The arm rests cannot be adjusted in any way unless you simply remove them from the chair and go without them. * Lack of mobility options (chair can tilt about 35 degrees or so when unlocked, but the back of the chair is locked in place and cannot be adjusted) * The locking mechanism of the chair is finicky and can unlock on its own at times, I recommend using an elastic for added tension to prevent the rod from sliding out of position and unlocking your chair. * Difficult to clean because (to no one's surprise) foam is very absorbent and retains grime and moisture, but this is a repercussion with buying any memory-foam based chairs so buyer beware. There's likely a time and setting for this chair, but if you intend to spend 4+ hours per day on it, i'd strongly advise looking into another model.

Excellent chair
I was concerned by some of the reviews on Amazon.com for this chair, but the Canadian reviews seemed to be good, though there were only two of them at the time I ordered it. I desperately needed a new chair. I was in a car accident (I was a pedestrian in a hit and run) in 2014. Ever since then, I have had chronic, severe pain from the resulting back injuries and use a wheelchair outside the house because I cannot walk far anymore. I was using a dining room chair as my computer chair for a while, but it was so painful I couldn't sit and work for long. As a university student studying software engineering, this is a problem. I need to be able to sit and code, sometimes for hours on end...if I cannot practice coding I will not become an effective programmer. This chair is so comfortable I can sit here all day and code, and still have energy to work on my novel after because I don't hurt! The seat is a bit hard, but not uncomfortably so, I can always put a cushion down if I need more padding on a given day, and the back support is exactly what I needed. The steel frame helps, too - I have unfortunately put on weight since my accident (being unable to stand and walk properly tends to do that to a person!) but this chair is sturdy, and my boyfriend's dad (a mechanical technologist - basically an engineer's assistant) who helped assemble the chair said it seemed very well built and felt like it would hold my weight for years to come. He said it was the best money I could have spent, it will help me succeed in school and in my career and will pay for itself in that regard alone! And I do trust his opinion, he has the experience to know these things, the man designs boats and parts for boats, which is a field where even a small mistake could cost lives.

Amazing
I have had lower back pain for about 4 months now (Herniated disc that's pushing on my sciatica) and this chair is awesome. I had a low grade chair in my office for the past year and when I told my boss about my back pain she told me to order any chair that I needed and so, I got this one. The lumbar support it amazing and really helps me sit straight at my desk. I would highly recommend this chair to anyone who is experiencing back pain or wants to prevent it from happening in the first place. This chair even matches my office colours - an added bonus. It is durable and was pretty simple to put together as it comes with everything you need. Awesome.

Quite Comfy
A good chair for someone with a big butt. Lots of room for it. The material's quite nice and a refreshing change from modern office chairs.
