Decent socks, ridiculously expensive
These are the socks I have found which I dislike *least*: the "Fox River Wick Dry Socks for Men Extra Cushioned Mid Calf Boot Socks". They are the ONLY socks I have bought in the past year that say "mid-calf" or "boot socks" and actually ARE mid-calf. Literally every other sock I have bought that said "boot sock" or "mid-calf" (dozens of them, at his point) has been a crew sock (that, or they have been as thin as Saran Wrap). Crew socks, for those who wonder, are not "mid-calf" -- they come up TO the calf, and then stop. Boot socks, aka mid-calf socks, come mid-way up the calf. I think the Fox River Wick Dry Socks for Men Extra Cushioned Mid Calf Boot Socks are stupidly expensive for a pair of synthetic socks (they are not even cotton). They cost about 10 times what *I* think a pair of synthetic socks should cost. But you wear the socks you have, not the socks you wish you had. I do not know why it has become impossible to find a simple pair of thick, plain, black, mid-calf cotton socks. Literally every pair I have bought in the past year (other than these) has been too short, or too thin, or both.

Still Great sox!
Love these sox, they're great if you have to be on your feet for a long amount of time, I bought five pairs. This review is updated after over 4 years of using these socks, they take about a year and a half before they start wearing out! A little pricey but still worth the money

Helps with circulation
Bought them for traveling on an airplane to help with circulation. It worked fine but felt a bit tight at the top.

Was hoping for more
After reading all the positive reviews I decided to buy a couple of pair of these socks. I like the fact that they are a thick sock which is good for warmth and foot cushioning. The major drawback for me is the fact that these socks do not stay up on your calf. I can't stand socks that droop down your leg in a short period of time after putting them on. Bought the Dickies version and while they are not as padded as the Fox River they stay up on your leg and for me that's important

Good venous support
Heavier sock. Good venous support. My favorite are the Darn Tough Vermont Merino Wool Mountaineering Extra Cushion Sock. I have ordered every single tall supportive sock available from amazon, including: Fox River Military Wick Dry Maximum Mid Calf (coyote brown colour) Fox River Stryker Military Boot Socks, Large, Sand Fox River Everyday Fatigue Fighter Over-The-Calf Socks, Black, Large and Fox River Men's Premium Boot Sock, Charcoal, Large to go with my Merrell Men's Moab Ventilator Hiking Shoe in a double-wide (2E). If you want a relaxed fit, my second favourite are the Fox River Men's Premium Boot Sock, Charcoal, Large.

Like wrapping my feet in love
I used to think paying this much for socks was crazy. And then I bought a pair, put them on my feet, and my whole world changed. I'm in the military and spend a lot of time on my feet with weight on my back, and these socks really make a HUGE difference. The price now seems completely reasonable. Also, I still have the first pair of Fox River socks that I bought while in Iraq in 2007, and they are still holding up well. I can't recommend these enough.

Super comfy - Super stinky
Simply put...Super comfy... super stinky. I am going back to merino wool socks for my work boots. On feet 10 hours a day. I would have returned them if it didn’t cost me almost as much as a pair of socks to send them back. They seem to be well made, so I imagine I’ll have them for some time.
