Great for the price though it has some flaws

Bought as a Christmas gift after my 7 year old boy expressed interest in one similar he spotted at a store. I'll cut to the chase; the worst part is the playing surface can be warped which makes passing or shooting for any players around the spot to lose ability to pass or shoot across the gap they travel through. (I.e. my right winger is useless to shoot or pass towards the net, he can only be used to carry up the boards to ultimately dump around to the left wing.) I found it a nice handicap for my son to have a chance at maybe surviving my onslaught! Hahaha. Otherwise it worked well and was a ton of fun for what it is. Also felt like a, "BIG" present without the big price.

Design flaws become apparent after a week or so

Our initial order had to be replaced because it came slightly damaged. When the replacement arrived, it seemed flawless and we enjoyed the game that evening. Very quickly, however, within hours certain design flaws became apparent. FLAWS: 1. A number of players did not sit low enough on the gear to be able to reach the puck. In fact, their hockey stick would hover over the puck in certain places, causing them to miss important hits repeatedly. I had to solve it by wrapping masking tape over their sticks (like we did with real sticks in childhood), which kinda solved the issue. If you are keeping the product, I would actually suggest that you do that 2. The plastic shields on the back of the field do not rise high enough. The players that move behind the goal always hit the shields with their heads. This not only impedes their movements but also puts extra wear and tear on the gears that the rods control. The gears are plastic, so you know what will happen after a few hundred spin-throughs: the gear will wear out. 3. The material from which the actual hockey field is made is really cheap. Due to the large incision made for the player to move behind the goal, a large piece of the field began to sag just after 1 week of playing. This resulted in the puck constantly getting stuck in the incision. That, again, impedes the natural movement of the puck, slowing puck control and hits. The game can still be played with all these, but there is a level of frustration that spoils its enjoyment. All of these are design flaws. I would go with a more expensive brand.

A whole lot of fun

Well made, easy to assemble, fun to play. Birthday present for my 8 year old grandson. I think he enjoyed the novelty of the game’s physical nature and using different skills from what he uses with his video games.

Don't waste your money!!!

The product "in my opinion" is very poorly made. The board is very flimsy. One of the players could hardly spin because the underside gears did mesh properly due to poor construction. It spins a little with much effort but does not spin true, going over the top of the puck altogether. It seems there was no quality control what so ever. I am very disappointed in this product coming from Franklin. I play on a Franklin table hockey set when I was a kid and trusted the name Franklin to be of much better quality than this. I gave this to my Grandson as a birthday gift and was ashamed when we had tried it out and saw what I bought.

A great game for the whole family.

This is the second one I purchased. This one is for my grandson who really likes to play on the one I own for myself. I know he will have a great time with it. It is well made, sturdy and will last many years. It a lot more fun than air hockey. I recommend this game to any hockey fan.

Flaws but still a great game

Out of the box, stickers were peeling off the game, some players didn't sit low enough to hit the puck, put some masking tape on the hockey sticks so they were able to hit the puck. Shouldn,t have to modify a new game to make it playable.

Fun game, not the best construction or components.

This is a fun game. I bought it for my kids because I had one when I was their age. I gave it 3/5 stars simply because it's pretty cheaply made. The handles are flimsy and bed of you aren't careful. There are also 4 dead spots on the board where you have to push the puck to someone with your hand. The good thing is, it was pretty inexpensive. And you generally get what you pay for.

Looks Like Fun

Arrived on time, easy to assemble, needs some practice to adjust to the game. My Grandson said it was tough to get a solid hit on the puck, stick blade just a little too small.

Terrible quality, poor value for big money

Cheap materials: control rods break like matches. Hockey players didn't last long either (horrible plastic), most of them broke down within a month, thus the table is lying useless. Puck is also made out of cheap material. Very disappointed.
