Time Saver + Quality = Professional Tool

I bought this particular profile to emulate a 1/4 bead molded edge on an exterior door made by Simpson. The 9/32" radius on the 1/4 bead is very close to what the door molding profile is. I am making side windows for the door, and use this cutter to produce glass back stile-and-rail frames for an exterior clear glass window and an interior copper-foiled stained glass window. That involves making two frames, with the 1/4" bead facing out on the exterior frame, and the 1/4" bead facing in on the interior frame. There is a spacer between the two frames. This is a very high quality tool, beautifully manufactured. In addition, when you want to do the copes, all you have to do is raise the bit in your router table or shaper table to put the cope profile at the right height. The picture that is shown for this bit is actually upside down as it would be deployed in a router or shaper table, the profile at the top of the picture is the stile moulding profile, and the profile shown at the bottom of the bit does the copes in the rails. ***One word of caution: My shaper (with the bit inserted fully into the chuck or collet) can be lowered JUST enough to allow me to mould the edges of the stiles. You should really check the applicable dimensions given for this bit at the Freud website to see if it will work in your router table or shaper.

High quality, very satisfied.

Very high quality tool. After some adjustments to my relatively poor quality Craftsman router table, I was able to make perfect rails & stiles. Be aware that the bit is quite tall, and on some router tables (like mine) cannot be raised sufficiently without removing the fence.

Works like a charm, but comes without any instructions. With some fiddling produces very nice cuts.
