Excellent tool for anyone
Quick read on an electrical socket if ever in doubt. The LEDs (see product picture) tell the rest of the story. So easy to use!

Its small and a good thing to have when you need to know if electricity is running through your wires or not.

The prongs were bent inside the packaging
It still works but I had to get a needle nose to bend them straight.

Easy to use
Easy to use, not easy to read some of the lights

One Way Read
Some receptacles are installed upside down which make the unit hard to use & read.

Great tool!
I really like this tester. I have many outlets mounted upside down and this tester allows you to read the results on BOTH sides unlike some others on the market. Recommend!

It worked as I had hoped it would
I have a bathroom outlet that is not a trippable GFCI and I had no way of knowing if it was wired in series with a GFCI and thus protected. I plugged the tester into the outlet, pressed the test button and sure enough the outlet became dead. I thought I just had to locate the primary GFCI and reset it. But when it would not reset I went to the panel The test button had also tripped a breaker in the panel. I recycled the breaker and then, of course, was able to reset the GFCI which in turn powered up the outlet I was questioning. So, yes, it did exactly what I wanted and saved me from unnecessarily replacing the outlet in question with a GFCI.

Does what I need it to do.
This device works as intended. I checked a number of receptacles and a couple of GFIs. The receptacles were all determined to be wired correctly, but one of the GFIs wouldn't trip, so will have to be replaced. The legend used to read the indicator LEDs could be a bit easier to read (the yellow and white are too close in colour to be able to easily tell which is which). The most problematic thing is, as others have noted, it can be a struggle to get the device out of the receptacle when the test is done. I'm tempted to take my Dremel tool and reduce the thickness of the plug's blades.

Super useful tool for homeowners
This device is extremely helpful when replacing outlets. I have an older home and over the years I have been changing out the older outlets to the newer style ones. This tester makes it easy to check my work and make sure everything is done correctly. It is also helpful if you have a situation where you want to be sure there is no power running to an outlet before you open it. Like if your breakers don't have labels or you are having problems you need to troubleshoot. Overall I am super pleased with this purchase.

I must be the unlucky one
Well, the reviews are great on Amazon so ordering one is a basic tester what can go wrong. Oh, yes it arrived open the box in anticipation find the first outlet plug the tester in, and voila the tester wouldn't fit in the outlet how that could be must be my outlet look for a second one same problem i tried to force it but it wouldn't budge. I must be the unlucky one. I return the product.

Accurate, reliable and effective
I haven’t had one problem yet, I have owned this for about a year and works great every time, material is pretty durable but don’t run it over with a skyjack it doesn’t like those

Read the review - tester hard to read
Comes with no manual or instructions. The key printed on the tester is printed so lightly that it appears on first look that all lights are marked as lit for all tests. The tester needs to be viewed in bright white light (not yellow or warm light as most indoor lights are ) to see the faint yellow marks. Beware...
