A little deeper than the old dimmer
Works well. Because it is deeper it is a little more difficult to install as a replacement.

Works
The dimmer switch works. That said... The toggle is loose and feels flimsy.

Easy to install
As always, a great quality product. Easy to follow instructions. Dinette area bulbs too bright with 3 ,60 watt but too dim with 40 watt, so I installed dimmable 60 watt equivalent LEDs with the GE dimmer. Done in 15 min.

Wrong product
I ordered two identical dimmer switches. I ordered the dimmer toggle where there is one "lever" and the intensity changes with the location of the dimmer. I got one of those and the other one has two "levers", one is off/on and a little lever controls the intensity. They both work well and I have installed both, but they were literally two separate products.

Works perfectly with 48" LED under cabinet lights.
Easy to install, works well with 4 48" LED under cabinet lights on 1 switch.

Mediocre Dimmer Switch (at best)
We hung a new light in our dining room and needed for a single-pole dimmer switch compatible with dimmable LED’s. After taking some of the critical reviews into consideration I decided to give the GE Single Pole Dimmer Toggle Switch a try. Summary - Save your money and look for a better product Pros - reasonably easy to install provided there is enough room in the switch box Cons - cheaply constructed, erratic/intermittent problem behavior, 40 watt minimum load recommended Package opening - As mentioned in other reviews, the device is fairly large. It has three “pig tail” wires that require wire nuts (supplied) to wire to an existing switch replacement. Older homes with smaller metal switch boxes may not have enough room in the box for the device plus the wires and wire nuts. Ours was a tight fit but I managed to safely stuff everything in the older box. Installation - Installation was straight-forward and didn’t require any advanced electrical skills. Turn off the circuit, attach the two black wires to the existing wires and the green to a ground. Operation - There is not a great range bright to dim. The brightest level seems fine but the lowest is brighter than expected. We made sure that the LED’s we bought were dimmable as well as the switch being compatible with LED’s. The lowest (dimmest) setting is still fairly bright compared to others switches I’ve used. There is an intermittent flicker in the bulbs that may be old house wiring and load changes so I’m not ready to blame that on the switch. However, when the lights have been left on the lowest setting, before the audible and tactile click to off, the lights go off within 20-30 minutes while still in the dimmest switch position. NOTICE - while there is no mention of a minimum load in the product listing, the instructions mention a minimum of 40 watts for LED’s. Luckily there are 8 LEDs at 5 watts each in the fixture being controlled so we just hit the minimum. The load may account for the erratic behavior at the lowest setting. Value - While the product is branded “GE”, it is made in China and doesn’t feel like a quality device. Unfortunately I bought two of them hoping to install the other on a single overhead light that has a single dimmable LED bulb drawing less than 10 watts. I don’t think I will go through the exercise of trying to replace the switch since the fixture will not meet the minimum load recommendation. You really need to be controlling a lot of LEDs these days to reach the 40 watt minimum.

Easy Install, Love To Dim
Sometimes in the middle of the night, or first thing in the morning, when you go into the bathroom, you don't want those lights above the mirror just blasting right into your eyes. This thing comes in super-handy for those times; just duck the lights to half-mast and you can remain comfortably drowsy. Was easy to install once I figured out which wires belonged where and was able to pull the cable through. Photosensitive people like me would do well to install some of these in their home!

Limited value
It might work fine in some applications, but it gives very troublesome flickers at some positions when used in my pretty standard under-cabinet light strip. Replacing with a brand that was just a bit more expensive solved the problem. Also, the switch itself has a loose, "cheap" feel.
