Get Lit
I recently bought a set of (4) GE CYNC Smart LED Light Bulbs for my Living Room. I mainly chose these bulbs because I used them in other fixtures in my home and liked how well they integrated with Alexa. Pairing these bulbs is generally easy and the best part is they DO NOT require a separate Hub. The color range is wide, and I have found setting them to "Turquoise" gives the room a warm glow without being too bright or, harsh. The only issue I had is one of the bulbs would not pair with Alexa while the other three did. I replaced the one which didn't work and now all is good. Amazon as per usual, delivered my order quickly. I'll be sure to order more in the future. I hope I was able to shine a light on these great products and brighten someone's day.

Fun and less expensive option
The media could not be loaded. These bulbs are less expensive in general AND don't require a hub. Two big wins there. I've had two of these installed on my front porch for a week or so now, and they're still shining bright. Installation was as simple as screwing in a light bulb. To set them up, I installed the Cync app and used that. I initially had a failure adding the bulbs, but later determined it was because I was attempting to name a room and a group with the same name during setup. When I retried setup and used different names, it worked flawlessly. After setup the bulbs needed a firmware update. Ya, weird... light bulbs... firmware... The update failed on both bulbs at first - don't know why. When I went back in to try again it worked just fine and they both updated. Adding the group to Google home was simple, but USING them is hit/miss. It looks like Google has issues talking with the Cync servers. Using the Cync app worked every time. For these particular bulbs, I really don't have a desire to use Google Home, but if I get additional interior bulbs I'll have to dig further. I got the A21 (100W equivalent) so they were brighter, but after installing these the A19s would be fine. In fact I've set the dim to 50% they were so bright. Changing colors and setting favorites is easy, and the animated stuff is cool. In the attached video, they go from "normal", to "candle", to "vegas", to "lava", then back to normal. You can create your own effects as well. I'm considering replacing my kitchen bulbs with these!

Read this if you're having setup problems
First off, this is just an initial review, I've only started using the bulbs today. I'll update later. Initial install: I bought four bulbs and placed them in a bathroom wall fixture. The existing bulbs were working prior to the install, but when I inserted the Cync bulbs... nothing. No light, no blink, nothing. I used a table lamp to try to set them up one at a time, when I encountered the next problem... Setup issues: After a customer service chat, I was finally able to get one of the four bulbs setup. Here's all the things I tried before it finally worked; I don't know what was actually the problem: - Turned off 5Ghz wifi on my router - Disconnected my Bluetooth hearing aids - Reset the bulb numerous times using the "8 seconds on, 2 seconds off, rinse and repeat" technique - Setup a different "home" in the Cync app and tried to add to that After doing all of that, I got ONE bulb to configure. The other three would not configure. I tried killing the app, no dice. Then, I had an epiphany: I rebooted my iPhone. Voila, a second bulb configured! I tried the third, and... no dice. Another reboot, and it worked. Literally, I could only configure one bulb PER BOOTLOAD of my phone. Unbelievably buggy app. Reinstalling in the original fixture: Four configured bulbs in hand, I excitedly headed back to the bathroom. Put them in the fixture, nothing. Dead. No light, no blink, nothing. I contacted support again, and they actually called me (again, customer support is actually quite good for these devices). After I described my problem, he finally said something that... wait for it... made a light come on in my head. He said that, if they don't come on at all, they're not getting power, and maybe the contact in the center of the socket wasn't making contact with the bulb. I powered off the fixture, got my needlenose pliers, bent them all out a little, and... voila! All four bulbs illuminated and are now working with both the Cync app and Alexa! Conclusion: Many things went wrong with my installation. I was >this< close to boxing them up and returning them, but I was on a mission after I got the first one to configure. Hopefully this helps someone else, it took me the better part of an afternoon to get these things to work.

Sometimes they don't turn off.
Installed a bunch of other Cync lights with no issues. I installed these 4 in a ceiling fan. When we tell Alexa to turn off the lights one of the 4 does not shut off every time. We unscrewed the one that was giving us problems and there is a second one that doesn't shut off but at a much lower frequency. Not sure I will purchase these again.

very easy to install
Just call Alexa and finish the installation job. No need to install a new app or hub.

Works
Had it for a few months now, could be brighter especially not the natural colors. The rgb color wheel really could be brighter. Was easy for me to install. Noticed the lights do have some delay the further from your phone. When on WiFi less so but still extremely noticeable delay

Troubleshooting tips bc I know you’re having issues
These bulbs are great when they work but when they don’t, it’s frustrating but they don’t have to be. If you are having issues with a particular bulb follow the manufacturer’s recommended steps to reset the bulb and give it another try. Don’t use google home or Alexa to manage them, these bulbs are not reliable with them. Just use their app (Cync), it works fine and offers more features anyways. I initially had major connectivity issues and was ready to pack them up and send it back to Amazon until I found out how to reset the bulbs. I’ve had them for a few weeks and I haven’t had a single connectivity issue because again… I use their app. Awesome product, I would recommend it for anyone wanting to light up their room with fun effects/colors. I work from home and during the winter when it gets dark it’s nice to have a dimmable light that’s not just you’re typical daylight/warm colors
