Perfect for mood lighting

In our den we only have a bright ceiling light so I added this led strip behind the couch to have dimmer lighting for when we are watching TV or trying to mellow out a toddler. I love the way it came out. The bright white is the only color that can dim. There is also a mode that flashes through the colors which is fun to have for dance parties. The only downfall is the receiver for the remote is large and needs to be uncovered to work.

Nice lights but doesn’t integrate to the other sizes

Was a bit surprised that these are different width than the 10’. Zero integration between the two sets other than the remote and power supply. Still nice lights and very functional. Makes sure to wait the 24hrs to allow the glue to dry before turning them on for long periods.

Only White is Dimmable

Only white is dimmable. The other colors (8, not 16) are NOT dimmable. This if for the "4 Light Strips + Remote" version of the products on this page. I cannot attest to the 10' or 20' versions.

Unfortunately these lights didn’t work out for me.

I got these lights with the thought that they’d be great for DIY under cabinet lighting in my kitchen. After getting them out of the box and attempting to set them up I decided they weren’t going to work for me. My main issues were a large sensor/cord that had to be visible for the remote control to work (not a good look imo) and the sizes you have to cut the strips to - there are only spots every 10 inches or so where you can cut the lights. So it didn’t stick well because it was just a bit too large for under the first cabinet. I wasn’t working with a long row of cabinets, so it just got to messy and complicated. IF you have a long straight row of cabinets I think this could be great, but otherwise I will be looking for other options personally.

Multicolor LED spacing of 2.25". Strong 3M adhesive backing works well.

Having tried many of the different LED tapes from various non-name brands, I was curious to see what GE is bringing us. This is a single 10 foot strip of multicolor LEDs spaced 2.25" apart with a five wire male connector at both ends and backed by 3M adhesive with a peel-off strip. A single female-to-female connector is provided so that you can add additional LED strips if desired. The AC adaptor provided (12V 1a output) should easily handle an additional strip but the instructions don't provide the limitation here. The remote provided allows for setting of a timer but does not permit automatic on/off times. In other words, I can't set this up to turn on each evening and turn off each morning. But I can turn it on in the evening and set it to turn off in 8 hours. The color output can be any one of multiple colors (or white) throughout the entire strip. Unlike some newer (and more expensive) strips, this can't be set up to have multiple colors displayed simultaneously. Brightness is 800 lumens max, with dimmer settings easily adjusted with the remote. Note that this isn't as bright as you might expect - many strips have LEDs spaced 1.5" apart, so this unit doesn't have the output that other strips of similar length can provide. This is definitely accent lighting rather than work lighting. There is some hard control capability from the accessory that fits between AC adaptor and the light strip, with a power button there that allows for control in case the remote has been misplaced or the CR2025 battery has died. On the up side, GE provides a 3 year warranty and the 3M adhesive is superior to those on other tape strips I've used. The remote is also reasonably intuitive. On the downside, brightness suffers due to the wide spacing between LEDs. I am also surprised that GE hasn't upgraded the connectors on each strip. The five wire connectors can too easily break off a pin or be plugged in backwards if you have trouble reading the small printing to figure out the orientation correctly. Everything here works, but I was hoping GE would give us a step up from the unbranded products so widely available.

Surprisingly nice lights!

First thing that struck me about these is how well made the light strip is. I've had other ones that feel very flimsy, but this feels quite robust - especially with the thick layer of silicone or whatever across the top of the strip. Very premium feeling. Installs easily enough and the adhesive is pretty dang good. The controls are fine. Has a couple decent preset options, but I do wish for a little more customizability in the colors/etc. I do like that it has a dedicated white light button. (And actual white LEDs.) Overall, a pretty great light strip that's plenty bright enough and works well.

Perfect for kids bedroom

I ordered these for my 9-year-old's room. She really wanted them hung around the perimeter of the room. I ordered just The 10-ft strip, which was perfect for one wall. These are very easy to install. You simply remove the backing paper from the tape, which is already installed on the light strip, and then firmly press it to the wall. The manufacturer does say that you need to let the glue on the tape cure for 24 hours. The power supply is easy to attach, and also comes with some adhesive strips for securing it to the wall. You can cut the LED tape on specific marked sections. You can also connect multiple strips together if needed. The kit also comes with a flexible corner piece. You use the corner piece, so that you can still get a nice fit around the corners of the room without breaking your lights. The remote is pretty self-explanatory to use. There is a power button, a strobe button (flashing lights), buttons that show you exactly which color the lights are going to turn to, dimming buttons, a fade button (colors slowly fades from one color to another), and even a timer. The timer can be set in 1 hour increments, up to 8 hours. The dimmer is set by minus and plus sign buttons. There are several options for the brightness you are looking for. Overall, My daughter and I are very pleased with these lights. They definitely bring a fun vibe to her bedroom at night time. She was able to figure out the remote in probably 60 seconds. So far they are exactly what we needed. My daughter is now bugging me to order more...
