Didn't fit

I had to fold up some paper and wedge it into the back of this to get this to fit on the controller it says that it fits.

Genuine GE part

The timer knob on our dryer cracked within a year of purchase, and the replacement we received from GE did not even last that long. Rather than bother with GE to get a new one, I purchased this for about $11. It's exactly the same genuine GE part that came with the dryer, and it was very easy to pop in place. This part purchased from amazon was cheap enough that I won't be upset if (when) I need to buy an additional replacement, however this has held up for the last few months without any signs of cracking. I also like that this knob was easy to align, so I'm not guessing which setting I'm using! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the price. If it was less than $10, it would be 5 stars.

Before you call your local washer/dryer repairman, try to do it yourself! SAVE $$$$

Read this before you call your local washer/dryer repairman & have them charge you $50 to $100 just to show up. Google & Youtube can be your best friend, confidante, & even soulmate! I saved myself over $100 by simply Googling what my issue was with my dryer. My dryer would not start so I narrowed the issue down to 2 things. One, the timer & two, the timer knob. After researching both, most DIY sites advised me that your timer on your dryer rarely goes out so I said what the heck? Take a chance with $10 & do it myself or pay a professional $100 to diagnose the issue then even more $$$ to fix it after! Boy am I so glad I chose the former! $10 & 10 seconds later, my dryer was back in business! Yes, it literally took me 10 seconds to replace it!

Replacement worked for 22 mo

Update: this worked for 22 months before cracking again. Note: I had reinforced the boss with JB Weld before installation, which /might/ have lengthened the life. Now I'm looking for a non-OEM knob that may last longer. This was an exact replacement that has worked fine for several months and counting. 4 stars because it appears to be the exact same design as the original design that cracked after several months. As a hedge, I reinforced the OD with JB Weld before installation. The D insert clip is standard for appliance knobs, so I'm not sure why some reviewers had difficulty with that part.

Updated Design

Better design that the initial included knob on my dryer. Metal sheath surrounds the whole knob channel plastic, instead of just the first few millimeters. Should last longer than the unit itself. Worth it.

Fast shipping and product as adveritsed

Our timer knob cracked on a Saturday night. Sigh...ordered this part and it was here Thursday. There was a delay with the carrier or else I would have had it Wednesday. Product was an exact match, came with the D-clip already installed in the knob. Basically just pushed in the knob and we are back in business. Highly recommend this company for parts.
