Repaired a pair of $250 plus MTB shoes, MFG said couldn't be repaired and just by another pair
I got a small tear in the side of some gortex Mountain bike shoes. The shoes were less than a year old and other than this small tear that I got when my pedal came off the spindle they were in perfect condition. These are good shoes and far to expense to throw out. I did contact the MFG of the shoes fully knowing what their response would be " Trashem , they can't be fixed". I figured it couldn't be worse than they already were and at the very least they would protect the inside of the shoe. I cleaned the outside as suggested allowed it to dry and followed the directions to the "T". Applied the patch and then hit it with a hair drier to add a little heat and hopefully excite the adhesive a little. Time will tell but in truth if all I need to do is apply a patch once a year to a pair of $200 plus mountain bike shoe to keep using them its a bargain.

Seems to be a good product
In the two pictures: First is when a GoreTex patch was applied to a pair of Men’s Ski Pants in the crotch to repair a repeated split opening of the stitching. The 2nd picture is the same pants put after 4 days of Alpine skiing and riding chair lifts as well as two times snowshoeing. The patch is holding up very well in a very difficult area subject to stress and strain and pulling. It’s been 3 weeks since the patch was applied. The technique I used was as follows: cleaned the pant area with denatured alcohol and used a hair dryer to dry. Cut the rectangular piece of Gear Aid Gore-Tex to size and rounded the 4 corners. Heated first the pants area with hair dryer and then applied the patch and pressed firmly in place and used the handle part of a hair brush to apply pressure on the patch while sliding it along the patch. Then using the hair dryer I heated the patch evenly and again using the handle to apply pressure. Did this heating and applying pressure three times. Do not over heat the patch because you could possibly separate the adhesive from the fabric part of the patch. The point of the heat is too soften the adhesive and base fabric (pants) just enough so as to assist the adhesive to work it’s way into the base fabric to create a bond. Then let it cool and don’t apply anymore pressure. I left the pants untouched and not used for 24 hrs. The results are quite impressive so far considering this difficult application. If it were just a sleeve or shoulder or back of a coat or pants then it would even be more impressive results. I hope this patch works for years. We shall see. Based on above I would recommend this product. I think more color choices would be very helpful for other people with different fabric colors. In my case it was a great match of just their standard Black Gore-Tex

Effective
Patched a winter jacket with one of these- it's held up well.

Great for repairing torn winter coat!
Both my son and I somehow snagged our new winter coats on something random and each ended up with a tear. These patches were super easy to apply and they are holding up well. They’ve been washed once and gotten pretty wet from snow at least twice, and they look just as they did when first applied. It was tricky to cut with regular scissors, but it was doable. I think fabric scissors might work better.

good product
I bought a package of 2 patches. They adhered well, and have saved my old but good winter jacket! I'm very pleased.

Slick! Quick and easy.
Super easy to use. I have a typical black light puffer jacket/coat that is mid length, that got a hole in it and was leaking feathers. I took it to the local tailor, who did a terrible repair job, it was still leaking feathers. I found this product. While the damage was now about the size of of quarter, I decided to use the whole patch to make sure the entire damaged area was covered and secure. While it's the not the most discreet repair, it sure beats the alternative of buying a new coat.

Looks great on my North Face parka!
Very easy to use. Blends in nicely with my black north face parka. Haven't washed it yet but looks like it will hold up.

Perfect repair for DOWN filled Nylon vest.
My boyfriend has this hideous black down vest that I hate. His dog bit into it and cast feathers everywhere. I hoped it was the end of the ugly vest until he pleaded with me to "fix" the big chewed dog hole in his vest. The hole was about 2" long and i tried to sew it. No such luck, there were still feathers everywhere coming through. I purchased a traditional patch, but it needed to be melted on and the material of the vest was nylon, so there is no way it was going to work (would have melted the origional material.) I came across this Gear Aid GORE-TEX Fabric Repair Kit. It was my last attempt to fix this vest. Well, it worked PERFECTLY. I attached it right over my poor sewing job and then put it in a low heat dryer the next day (for about 20 min). My boyfriend was so impressed with the repair, he couldn't even FIND the repair at first. This is a wonderfully strong product that I WILL buy again if I ever get a tear in a down jacket, sleeping bag, tent, or similar structure. The item worked as specified and made for a very clean repair. My only problem now is that my boyfriend is back to wearing this hideous vest all the time....at least now there are not feathers falling out of it. :) **note: if you wanted to use this patch for a tent (or similar thin material) you would probably be best to patch both sides of the fabric. This would eliminate the sticky residue on the inside of the patch. You could set it with a low heat hair-dryer or sit in the sun for a day. It would make a great "on-the go" patch for avid hikers/campers since it is self-adhesive.

Great product
Bought this repair set for my jacket, after a fall from my bike, I was left with four small holes and one large hole on the sleeve, the patches were easy to apply and stick really well, they are sufficient in size covering quite a large hole, saved me spending £140 on a new jacket, would recommend this product, but will update my review after a few washes

Highly recommended
Patched up the elbow/forearm of a £300 Rapha Pro Team jacket following a spill a few months ago. Caught in rain many times which has had absolutely no impact. Very heavy downpour on a couple of occasions with exactly the same result. Quality product.
