Great quality extractor that saved the day !!!!!

I had a problem with a rounded transmission drain plug on a BMW. So much for German over-engineered product. They designed a plug that is 1" in size with just a 5mm hex center hole for you to use an hex wrench bit on it. The material on the drain plug is very soft metal and it is impossible to loosen without rounding the hex hole. Great German under-engineered product I'll say. Luckily this Hex Head Multi-Spline Extractor to the rescue. I enlarged the rounded hex hole with a 1/4" drill bit and fit this extractor on it, it grabbed the rounded hole and using a ratchet, it came loose effortlessly. The quality of the extractor is superb. I removed the damaged drain plug and examined the spline on this extractor and there is absolutely no marring, which shows the high-quality steel used on this extractor. I fully recommend this quality extractor 100%. It seems as if BMW's bottom line is profitability. Its got plastics everywhere under the hood and its got alloy nuts and bolts fasteners that has to be replaced every time you work on it. Now its even worse, you can't even loosen the transmission drain plug without damaging it (*&^%).

Sheer Genius for the Guitar Technician!

I do not know who found this, but it works great for use as a 1/4 inch output jack tool for guitar or other musical instruments. Often, I cannot reach the "back side" of a 1/4 inch output jack when installing same in an instrument repair or modification. This device and a 1/2 inch box end wrench makes such an installation SO much easier! Once the nut is started on the output jack, slip the extractor into the 1/4 jack hole, and rotate slightly left to engage a firm hold. Then, with a 1/2 inch nutdriver to hold this tool in place and maintain the output jack position, one can tighten down the output jack nut with a wrench - without worry of problems due to "spinning output jack" syndrome. A tool with an original machinists purpose has new life with guitar technicians!

Good quality tool

Had to remove a 10mm Allen head fill plug that stripped out on a NP242 transfer case under a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Had just enough bite to be able to get that plug out. Good tool, but honestly hope I never need to use it again though. Will definitely shop for Irwin Hanson screw extractors if I need a different one, they seem to be good quality.

No es como cómo se muestra en la fotografía y la información no dice como es. Recibí 5 piezas de 3/8 en una bolsa plástica, no estuche no piezas de diferente medida cómo se muestra la fotografia,trato de subir la foto pero el sistema me lo rebota
